Job Summary:
Join the Magic of Disney: Lead Observability for Identity Services! At The Walt Disney Company, we don't just create experiences-we create magical moments for every guest, fan, subscriber and viewer who interacts with our brands. The Identity Product team is at the heart of this, powering the entire journey from registration to privacy choices, and we're looking for an Observability Product Manager to help us maintain the reliability of the Identity systems. In this role, you'll be the driving force behind our service reliability strategy, ensuring that our identity services-like login, registration and account management-run smoothly. You'll have the opportunity to implement an advanced observability program, building a world-class system for monitoring and proactively detecting issues. With your work, millions of Disney guests worldwide will enjoy flawless interactions with our identity solutions, enabling guests to engage with their favorite experiences from Disney+ streaming to theme park ticketing. By enhancing the performance and reliability of these critical identity systems, this role will ensure that guests are always ready to interact with the magic Disney offers.
Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement a comprehensive observability vision across Identity, ensuring the stability and performance of Disney's identity services
  • Build dashboards that provide real-time views of service health, enabling immediate detection and resolution of potential issues
  • Establish a proactive alerting system that flags critical incidents before they impact guest experiences, minimizing downtime
  • Create a standardized observability framework that allows for a holistic view of service ecosystems, identifying risks early and enhancing overall reliability
  • Partner with Engineering and Program to resolve incidents quickly, troubleshoot system issues, and contribute to the long-term resilience of services
  • Contribute to the development of long-term strategies that ensure consistent service reliability, and help define the product roadmap to continue delivering magical guest experiences
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach by anticipating challenges, identifying opportunities, and driving initiatives to enable effective outcomes


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience as a Product Manager, with a proven track record of success in building and executing observability strategies
  • Working knowledge of Datadog or similar observability tools, and a demonstrated ability to use data to drive product decisions
  • Strong ability to collaborate across teams, align stakeholders on product plans, and operate in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • Experience working within agile software development environments, leading squads through scrum processes
  • A deep appreciation for Disney's mission to create magical experiences for guests, fans, subscribers and viewers


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with Datadog
  • A passion for working at The Walt Disney Company


The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA, Glendale, CA, and Bristol, CT is $152,200 to $204,100 per year, in Seattle, WA and New York, New York is $159,500 to $213,900 per year and in San Francisco, CA is $166,800 - $223,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
