Pinterest runs on AI, and Pinterest Labs develops the technology that powers Pinterest. As the Product Manager for AI Safety you’ll help build what’s next, ensuring that new and emerging AI and ML system capabilities uphold Pinterest’s mission while solving Pinner and Advertiser problems.  


What you’ll do:

  • Develop and execute a cohesive strategy for AI Safety capabilities and applications in close partnership with Engineering, Product, Design, Research, Executive, and other cross functional stakeholders. 
  • Build innovative features and processes applying technology and processes to solve Pinner, Partner, and Pinterest problems. 
  • Collaborate with a range of teams to create and execute on a comprehensive development roadmap that addresses regulatory needs as well as the multi-layered safety systems that uphold Pinterest’s values. 
  • Work cross functionally with a wide range of partner disciplines, eg. engineering, design, data science, marketing, legal, and sales.


What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrated success in applying emerging technologies into products at fast-growing companies. 
  • Strong product sense and ability to collaborate and get buy-in from stakeholders while setting a long term vision. 
  • Strong analytical skills to define product and model development strategy, drive decision making, and enable trade-off discussions grounded in data and qualitative feedback.  
  • Previous experience in applied research or AI/ML compliance is a plus but not required. 
  • Ability to lead and operate in ambiguous environments and execute with urgency.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

  • We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
  • This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/quarter and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.
