The Role:
Moderna Services, Inc. seeks a Sr. Principal Software Engineer, Cloud for its Seattle, Washington location.
Here’s What You’ll Do:

On behalf of a global biotechnology company, partner with stakeholders and vendors to analyze, design, build and operate infrastructure platforms to support the delivery of cloud transformation and migration solutions, infrastructure solutions, cloud technologies, networking, and platform migration, focusing on infrastructure modernization and migration to the cloud.

Analyze and understand stakeholder requirements and propose and deliver packaged offerings to help partners and stakeholders utilize AWS services, such as Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), Amazon RDS, Amazon Route 53, Amazon SimpleDB/RDS databases, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), and Amazon CloudWatch. Define and deliver modern infrastructure architectures for public and hybrid cloud solutions based on the AWS cloud.

Ensure partner teams are successful in building applications and services on the AWS platform by utilizing all skills and technical backgrounds to drive discussions regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management, and risk mitigation.

Assist in the development of technical architecture and capacity, while also collaborating with partners on key engagements.

Own and drive work-streams on projects involving architecture, design, development, and implementation of Cloud services.

Deliver proof-of-concept prototypes, topical workshops, and implementation projects as part of the team.

Focus on key solutions, such as Landing zone or AWS Control tower, web applications, enterprise applications, HPC, archiving and disaster recovery.

Assist in the migration of existing applications and the development of new applications using AWS services, working with engineering, support, and business teams to convey partner and stakeholder feedback as input to AWS technology roadmaps.

Define technical and project strategies, document best practices, and consult and provide analytical insight on product improvement/development and feature innovation for cloud-based web services and platforms based on scalability, performance, availability, and cost.

Minimum requirements:

Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field and seven (7) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Cloud Architect, Infrastructure Engineer, Cloud Engineering Consultant, or related position.

Seven (7) years of experience must include:
-
Cloud-based solutions for migrating existing workloads and infrastructure to the cloud;

Integration of cloud services with on-premises technologies;
-
AWS services and technologies;
-
Design, development, deployment or maintenance of IT infrastructure or business software in real-work environments;
-
Designing and troubleshooting cloud and network related architecture.

May telecommute 2 days per week.
Under Washington State law, Moderna is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for the jobs covered by this description. Base compensation for these positions in Washington State range from $182,000 to $327,500. Actual salary determinations will take into account factors such as work location, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge, and demonstrated skills. Compensation decisions are made on the facts and circumstances of each case. The minimum target pay for this particular position based on the primary location of the position is $267,800-$327,500.
