The team

The Finance team at Kraken is a group of specialists charged with managing the firm’s liquidity, capital and risk, and providing the overall financial controls and reporting functions for executive decision making, compliance, and audit readiness. Our work contributes directly to Kraken’s success.

The Platform Operations team within the Platform Accounting organization is responsible for reconciling all crypto and fiat transactions across our many different assets and banks, investigating the exceptions, and ensuring they are accounted for properly. The Platform Operations team is also responsible for various revenue share agreements and invoicing.

Kraken is seeking a Senior Platform Operations Analyst to oversee and reconcile all funding activities across the exchange. You’ll collaborate with Accounting, and other internal teams, to enhance automation, improve financial data quality, and strengthen audit readiness—joining an elite Finance team that drives process improvements.

The opportunity

  • Oversee and execute complex monthly fund reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Supervise transaction logging, proactively resolving discrepancies.

  • Support internal and external audits with strategic documentation.

  • Triage and resolve processing exceptions by collaborating across departments.

  • Act as a liaison between Engineering and Accounting for accurate blockchain data processing.

  • Identify and address data flaws in customer funding and ledger processing.

  • Manage onboarding of new revenue share agreements for seamless integration.

  • Lead invoice preparation and issuance, ensuring timely and accurate billing.

  • Book journal entries related to revenue sharing and invoicing.

  • Ensure compliance with record-keeping, reporting, and financial policies.

  • Play a key role in the month-end close process, resolving exception balances.

  • Align financial processes with GAAP and internal policies.

  • Design and implement internal controls to safeguard financial data.

Skills you should HODL

  • 3+ years in accounting, finance, or operations, preferably in fintech, crypto, or financial services.

  • Experience with blockchain, cryptocurrency reconciliation, and investigation.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, journal entries, invoicing, and revenue sharing.

  • Expertise in reconciliations, financial audits, crypto transaction investigations, and discrepancy resolution.

  • Proven ability to design and implement internal controls for financial accuracy.

  • Proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel (pivot tables, V-Lookups) and SQL for data analysis and working with large datasets.

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration with Treasury, Accounting, and Engineering teams.

  • Knowledge of GAAP, regulatory compliance, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.

Nice to haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.

  • Experience in highly regulated industries or familiarity with financial compliance standards (e.g., SOX, audit regulations).

  • Proficiency in process automation tools (e.g., RPA, Python) to improve efficiency.
