TechCrunch is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Sales Operations and Strategy Manager to support revenue growth. This role will drive operational efficiency, optimizing sales processes, and informing strategy with data-driven insights. As the connective tissue between sales, marketing, editorial,  product, and finance, and leadership, this position will ensure alignment and help us scale revenue growth effectively.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

  • Partner with TechCrunch leadership to drive accountability in revenue outcomes

  • Market Research: monitor industry trends and market conditions to anticipate opportunities and challenges, and adapt strategies accordingly

  • Oversee market and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure sales goals are supported by marketing, editorial, and product initiatives

  • Align with finance to create incentive programs and compensation structures that drive desired behaviors

Sales Operations:

  • Develop and maintain sales processes, workflows, and tools to optimize efficiency

  • Manage CRM systems (e.g., Hubspot + Salesforce), ensuring data integrity and accuracy

  • Oversee performance reporting – generate forecasts, track pipeline health, and create performance dashboards to provide actionable insights

  • Continuously evaluate and refine sales processes to reduce friction and enhance efficiency

  • Introduce automation and tools where appropriate to improve productivity

  • Oversee advertising T&C (terms and conditions) negotiations with legal

Media & Packaging:

  • Develop media offerings and playbooks to support sales in closing deals effectively

  • Manage inventory packaging, forecasting, and new ad products to create and maintain viable ad offerings for the TechCrunch brand

  • Ensure campaign types, targeting options, and booking processes are established to achieve optimal monetization outcomes

  • Oversee the accurate delivery of direct-sold advertising campaigns

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in sales operations, strategy, or revenue management within a media, technology, or SaaS company

  • Proven track record of driving measurable improvements in sales productivity and efficiency

  • Comfort with ambiguity in project scope and ownership

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and recommendations

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work across teams and influence stakeholders

  • Strategic thinker,  detail oriented  with the ability to execute operationally

  • Collaborative and solutions-focused

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in or supporting B2B sales teams

  • Familiarity with the media and advertising sales landscape

  • MBA or advanced degree in business, analytics, or a related field

The compensation for this position ranges from $110,625.00 - $230,625.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
