Ready to be pushed beyond what you think you’re capable of?

At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. It’s a massive, ambitious opportunity that demands the best of us, every day, as we build the emerging onchain platform — and with it, the future global financial system.

To achieve our mission, we’re seeking a very specific candidate. We want someone who is passionate about our mission and who believes in the power of crypto and blockchain technology to update the financial system. We want someone who is eager to leave their mark on the world, who relishes the pressure and privilege of working with high caliber colleagues, and who actively seeks feedback to keep leveling up. We want someone who will run towards, not away from, solving the company’s hardest problems.

Our work culture is intense and isn’t for everyone. But if you want to build the future alongside others who excel in their disciplines and expect the same from you, there’s no better place to be.

In this role you will be driving the vision and strategy for Coinbase’s collaboration tools as well as our IT Product Management team. This role will work with many cross-functional stakeholders to help drive collaboration and productivity across the company. We are looking for someone passionate about collaboration, has an intense customer focus and is looking to build new tools that elevate our employee experience. The ideal candidate will be able to flex from being “hands-on” as well as driving vision and strategy.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

  • Managing a team of Technical Program Manager, Business Systems Analysts and System Engineer that is responsible for end to end ownership of SaaS collaboration applications including Lucid, Clockwise, Asana, etc.
  • Managing a team IT Product Managers & Business Systems Analyst that partner closely with our IT Engineering teams on our larger collaboration platforms and internal built custom applications.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure that IT applications and services are delivering the maximum value and driving efficiency across the company.
  • Delivering on the vision of our IT Product Management and Business Systems Analysts functions.
  • Mentor and develop team members to have a positive impact on the organization and support their career growth.
  • Communicate progress on initiatives, KPIs, and risk metrics to cross-functional partners and executive leadership

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

  • Strong ability and excitement to both scale up (present to execs and the board) and scale down (own and drive initiatives and solve problems directly)
  • Experience working with, balancing needs, and maintaining strong relationships across a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability in working with a high degree of business and technical complexity across a broad product portfolio
  • 5+ years of experience owning collaboration applications at a high-growth technology company within highly regulated industries
  • 5+ years of experience leading internal product management teams building custom applications
  • Deep analytical, prioritisation and problem solving abilities, and the ability to work effectively with incomplete or ambiguous information
  • Demonstrated product leadership, including evidence of the ability to guide product strategy and create alignment with senior engineers and cross-functional partners

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with product design functions
  • Experience with implementing collaboration AI features at the company level

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
