The Senior HR Generalist will step in to support FloQast’s growth during a maternity leave, driving key HR processes for our Research & Development (R&D) teams. You’ll take charge of the performance review cycle for R&D groups, handle employee relations, and be the go-to for managers’ daily questions—ensuring smooth operations and a positive employee experience. Partnering with HR leadership, you’ll keep us compliant, solve issues fast, and champion FloQast’s culture in a high-energy, fast-moving SaaS environment. This is a temporary role with big impact—no supervisory duties, just hands-on execution.

Please note this will be a 1099 fixed term US based remote contract with expected 30-35 hours per week from approximately June 1, 2025 to December 1, 2025.

WEST COAST PREFERRED

What You'll Do

  • Run the Performance Review Process: Own the end-to-end performance management process for R&D teams—align to deadlines for performance reviews, guide managers on review writing, coach them to deliver effective feedback, conduct calibrations, lead merit review and promotion processes, and compile data as needed ensuring alignment and fairness across the cycle.
  • Manage Employee Relations: Handle R&D employee issues (e.g., conflicts, performance plans, disciplinary actions), conducting investigations or terminations as needed.
  • Field Manager Questions: Act as the first point of contact for R&D managers, answering day-to-day HR queries (e.g., policies, payroll, leave) and escalating complex cases to HR leadership.
  • Handle Leave Requests: Manage leave of absence processes for R&D employees, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA).
  • Spot Trends: Track employee relations issues or manager questions, flagging patterns to HR and R&D leaders with actionable insights (e.g., “Turnover spiked in X team—let’s dig in”).
  • Keep Us Compliant: Stay on top of U.S. employment laws, ensuring R&D policies align, and recommend quick fixes to HR leadership when gaps pop up.
  • Jump In: Tackle ad-hoc HR tasks or projects as they arise, from process tweaks to one-off manager requests.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience: 5-7 years in HR, ideally in a fast-paced SaaS company, with hands-on experience running performance reviews and managing employee relations.
  • Tech Savvy: Proven skills with HRIS (e.g., updating records, pulling reports) and fluency in Microsoft Office/G-Suite.
  • Education: BS/BA in HR or related field, or equivalent experience; SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP a bonus.
  • Legal Know-How: Solid grasp of U.S. employment laws (e.g., FLSA, FMLA) to keep us compliant.
  • Problem-Solver: Sharp analytical skills to spot issues (e.g., a spike in complaints) and propose fixes fast.
  • Communicator: Clear, direct verbal and written skills—whether coaching a manager or documenting a case.
  • Team Player: Positive, collaborative attitude—ready to roll up your sleeves and get it done.
  • Organizer: Strong ability to juggle tight deadlines (e.g., review season) and shifting priorities without dropping the ball.
  • Integrity: High ethical standards and a sense of ownership—your work shapes FloQast’s success.
