The Snap Communications team conveys Snap’s mission, vision and values to Snapchatters, advertising partners, content partners, investors, policymakers, and Snap team members.
We’re looking for a vibrant Sr. Director to lead our global product communications. This position requires extensive experience in communications, leadership, and knowledge of the tech industry, particularly consumer software and hardware.
What you’ll do:

Develop and lead Snap’s global product communications strategy, inclusive of Snapchat (Chat, Camera and Spotlight), Snap AR, Spectacles, and Snap OS, among other products

Formulate and execute key strategies that have a positive impact on Snap's reputation and achieving our long-term vision

Directly run all US product comms, and provide senior oversight to EMEA and APAC team members to ensure effective global rollouts of all product, feature and platform policy initiatives

Partner closely with leaders across Snap’s product, engineering, partnerships, talent, research, policy, and T&S teams to drive meaningful collaboration, manage fast-paced media cycles, and ensure alignment on desired outcomes

Oversee all communications for our annual Snap Partner Summit

Maintain a deep understanding of Snap’s business goals so that our product narratives ladder up to our key objectives of driving revenue, growing our community, and leading in AR

Effectively roll out all new products, features, and platform policy updates, and surface proprietary technical research to advance our business goals and bolster our recruiting capabilities

Help grow our competitive edge in augmented reality (AR) and wearables through strategic storytelling
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
-
Strong command of the tech, media, and popular cultural landscapes, with experience being of counsel to senior stakeholders, preferably in-house and at a publicly traded company

Deep knowledge of cutting-edge technology (ideally AR, developer ecosystems, and/or wearables or hardware), with an interest to go deep and learn more

Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to experiment in order to learn and identify creative solutions

Strong people management and leadership skills

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and independently manage multiple complex projects simultaneously

Ability to build strong working relationships cross-functionally and across different time zones

Ability to balance critical thinking with tactical execution and attention to detail, in the face of frequent inbound enquiries and other requests

Excellent news and overall judgment, as well as exceptional writing and communications skills

Able to serve as a Snap spokesperson as needed
Minimum Qualifications:

BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience

5+ years experience managing people
-
15+ minimum years communications experience

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):
The base salary range for this position is $334,000-$500,000 annually.
Zone B:
The base salary range for this position is $317,000-$475,000 annually.
Zone C:
The base salary range for this position is $284,000-$425,000 annually.
This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
