Sr. Director - Brand Creative Strategist will serve as our “storyteller-in-chief.” This person will be the steward of our brand voice and deeply understand our core customer to craft strategies and creative concepts that elevate our cultural relevancy. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Marketing, this role is pivotal in defining what Skylight stands for, developing our brand tagline, and shaping content themes that touch the hearts and attention of the communities we’re aiming to serve. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine the brand’s positioning and tagline to reflect our mission.
  • Serve as the voice of the brand, ensuring all content and creative aligns with our identity, and core values.
  • Conduct deep research to understand the needs, emotions, and aspirations of our parenting audience.
  • Translate customer insights into compelling content strategies and narratives.
  • Identify trends and cultural moments that align with our brand values to drive relevance and engagement.
  • Assist in the ideation and execution of bold, original campaigns that set us apart in the parenting space and tie back to a cultural hook.
  • Develop compelling brand narratives that communicate the emotional and functional benefits of Skylight to the world.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to propagate brand tenets, messages, stories and content throughout all touchpoints with the customer: marketing, product, packaging, social, press, and more. 
  • Define annual content themes that reflect our brand ethos and address the needs of our core customer.
  • Partner with creative and growth teams to translate themes into impactful content and storytelling opportunities.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience telling emotionally resonant stories and developing content and strategies, preferably in the parenting space. 
  • Proven track record of developing brand taglines, content strategies, and campaigns that resonate deeply with target audiences.
  • Strong understanding of parental cultural trends and the ability to translate them into brand opportunities with parenting communities.
  • Exceptional storytelling and creative concept development skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively with creative teams, providing constructive feedback and supporting the development of high-quality visual and written content.
  • Collaborative mindset with excellent communication and leadership abilities.

  • Created a business-transforming marketing campaign – from scratch – and did it in a scrappy way.
  • Started out as a soloist and built out a high-performing team as the business and brand grew.
  • Developed a memorable brand tagline that customers can recite from memory

For Colorado-based candidates, the range being offered for this role is $190k-230K based on experience and for California-based candidates, the range being offered for this role is $190k-230K based on experience.
