Flock strives to offer a career-defining experience where you can also make an impact on your community. While safety is a serious business, we are a supportive team that is optimizing the remote experience to create strong and fulfilling relationships even when we are physically apart. Our group of hard-working employees thrive in a positive and inclusive environment, where a bias towards action is rewarded.

We have raised over $700M in venture capital from investors including Tiger Global, Andreessen Horowitz, Matrix Partners, Bedrock Capital, Meritech Capital Partners, and Initialized Capital. Now surpassing a $7.5B valuation, Flock is scaling intentionally and seeking the best and brightest to help us meet our goal of reducing crime in the United States by 25% in the next three years.

The Opportunity

Flock Safety is transforming public safety and security by equipping law enforcement agencies and commercial organizations with AI-driven technology to prevent and solve crime. As we scale, we need Solution Engineers who can act as trusted advisors, helping customers understand how Flock’s platform can deliver measurable value at every stage of their buying journey.

As a Solution Engineer, you will be embedded in the deal cycle, engaging customers from initial discovery to final sign-off. You’ll partner closely with Account Executives (AEs) to understand customer pain points, consult on requirements, tailor platform demonstrations, and design deployment strategies that align with their priorities. Whether it’s a police department improving investigative workflows or a retail chain enhancing loss prevention, you will craft solutions that help customers make informed decisions with confidence.

Your role will be critical in ensuring that customers see the full potential of Flock’s platform by:

  • Leading discovery sessions to identify key customer requirements, success metrics, and process gaps.

  • Aligning tailored demonstrations, success stories, and technical discussions to the value metrics that matter most to each customer.

  • Designing deployment strategies that integrate Flock’s platform with existing workflows to drive operational impact.

  • Building Statements of Work (SOWs) and Proof of Concept (POC) plans that ensure smooth implementations.

  • Effectively articulating Flock’s competitive differentiators to position the platform’s unique advantages.

  • Guiding customers through final sign-off, securing buy-in and commitment.

This role is especially important now as we continue to expand our platform capabilities. We need professionals who can bridge the technical and business worlds, driving meaningful conversations that lead to successful deployments.

The Skillset

To succeed as a Solution Engineer at Flock Safety, candidates should combine technical expertise with strong customer engagement and sales acumen, ensuring solutions are tailored to customer needs and deliver measurable value. The key priorities are:

  • Consultative Sales & Customer Discovery – 2-5 years of sales engineering or technology sales experience, with a track record of leading technical discovery sessions, tailoring demos, and aligning solutions to customer objectives.

  • Solution Architecture & Value Alignment – Ability to connect and align all platform capabilities—hardware, software, AI, and integrations—toward solving specific customer pain points and delivering measurable value.

  • Presentation & Communication Skills – Strong ability to deliver compelling in-person and virtual demonstrations, articulate competitive differentiators, and influence key stakeholders at all levels.

  • Sales Enablement & Deal Execution – Experience partnering with Account Executives (AEs) to accelerate deal cycles, drafting Statements of Work (SOWs) and Proof of Concept (POC) plans, and responding to RFPs/RFIs.

  • Technical & Integration Expertise – Strong understanding of SaaS platforms, with the ability to design scalable deployment strategies. Experience with real-time video, physical security, and VMS systems is a plus.

  • Industry & Market Knowledge – Understanding of public safety, security, and commercial loss prevention is a plus. Experience with crime mapping and mapping tools is also beneficial..

This role is for problem solvers who thrive on understanding customer challenges, their definition of value, and demonstrating how our platform delivers real impact. Solution Engineers in this role craft compelling demos, showcase business value, and drive solution adoption by aligning technology with customer needs. Their technical expertise enables them to translate complex capabilities into practical solutions, ensuring law enforcement agencies and commercial organizations maximize the power of our platform.

Feeling uneasy that you haven’t ticked every box? That’s okay; we’ve felt that way too. Studies have shown women and minorities are less likely to apply unless they meet all qualifications. We encourage you to break the status quo and apply to roles that would make you excited to come to work every day.
