Title: Solution Architect Lead

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The Solution Architect Lead at Duck Creek Technologies plays a critical client-facing role, responsible for interpreting and translating client requirements into solutions that leverage Duck Creek’s suite of offerings. The Solution Architect Lead ensures that proposed solutions are designed, costed, and transitioned effectively for successful implementation. Operating as a subject matter expert, this role involves close collaboration with sales teams, delivery partners, and internal stakeholders to drive deal success and solution integrity.

  • Understand and translate buyer requirements into a comprehensive solution plan, proposal, and cost estimate, leveraging standardized processes and offerings.
  • Conduct high-level requirements workshops to gather and refine client needs.
  • Drive necessary sign-offs for proposed solutions by articulating client business objectives, solution risks, budget considerations, and preferences.
  • Balance competing priorities among stakeholders to define acceptable risk levels and ensure compliance with Duck Creek standards and best practices.
  • Manage the transition of selected solutions, including assumptions, risks, and mitigation plans, to the implementation services organization or partners.
  • Review and provide input on services proposals led by implementation partners.
  • Escalate technical or domain-specific inquiries to appropriate subject matter experts within Duck Creek.
  • Prepare estimates, schedules, work plans, and resource/sourcing plans for proposed solutions.
  • Define inputs required to create cost models, focusing on services and ancillary costs of implementation.
  • Act as a key member of the sales team to represent the proposed solution to client stakeholders and internal Duck Creek groups.
  • Participate in market-building initiatives with existing and prospective clients and implementation partners.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends, buyer values, and industry insights, with a focus on the North American region. Perform all other duties and activities as required.

WHAT YOU’VE DONE:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 6+-years of professional experience, including delivery experience covering planning and mobilization.
  • Hands-on experience with systems implementation in one or more Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance software products (e.g., Policy, Billing, Claims, Agency Management, Reinsurance, or Data & Analytics).
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, particularly for P&C insurance software.
  • Experience working with SaaS platforms and articulating their benefits to clients.

PREFERRED

  • Bachelor’s degree, its equivalent degree, or commensurate professional experience
  • Experience implementing Duck Creek solutions for Policy Administration and/or Billing.
  • Knowledge of value proposition and business case development for P&C insurance clients.
  • Familiarity with Software as a Service (SaaS) migration projects, particularly for P&C insurers transitioning from on-premises systems.=

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Behaviors:

  • Expertise in solution architecture, including estimating, configuration, costing, and sourcing within the context of a sales process (e.g., RFI/RFP, workshops, SOW creation).
  • Deep understanding of the Property & Casualty insurance industry, including its business processes and challenges.
  • Strong knowledge of Duck Creek’s Example Platform and its suite of products.
  • Proficiency in articulating the benefits of SaaS and cloud-native solutions to clients.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering creative, practical solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into client-friendly language.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Solid understanding of project risk management and mitigation planning.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and iterative development practices.
  • Knowledge of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies in the insurance technology space.
  • Skilled in conducting workshops and facilitating discussions with diverse client teams.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a results-driven approach.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities, with a focus on continuous improvement and learning.

Other Requirements:

  • Travel: 10-25%
  • Work Authorization: Legally authorized to work in the country of the job location.
