Job Description
DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Execute software solutions, design, develop, troubleshoot and build solutions or break down technical problems. Develop secure and high-quality production code. Perform reviews and debug code written by the other team members. Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems. Develop and optimize producer and consumers for high-throughput and low-latency for enhancing the overall system performance and leverage Key Management Service for encryption and decryption. Build secure and resilient backend services and Application Programing Interface. Utilize terraform for provisioning and creating the cloud infrastructure components. Automate the end-to-end testing, develop unit tests and conduct performance and Chaos testing for the applications. Develop a responsive and dynamic front-end portal with an emphasis on modular and reusable react components. Build and deploy applications and log the performance metrics, errors and exceptions of the application.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Tech Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Tech Consultant, or related occupation.
Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Linux, Windows environments and Shell scripting; working in Agile SDLC for adapting to changing project requirements and delivering high-quality software in iterative cycles; Application and Infrastructure architectures disciplines for designing scalable, maintainable and secure software systems and infrastructure; utilizing Apache Kafka and Apache Zookeeper for building real-time data pipelines, streaming applications, managing and coordinating the distributed systems; building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Spinnaker to automate builds, tests, deployments (blue/green) to ensure code quality; Kubernetes and Docker for containerization, deployment, management and scaling of containerized applications; developing REST and SOAP microservices using Java, J2EE, Springboot, Spring integration, and Spring web services; utilizing Hibernate with SQL for executing SQL queries; result mapping within applications developed using Java; Apache Tomcat for hosting Java web applications and integration with web servers; building applications that can handle the serialization/deserialization of JSON and XML files; Project initialization, dependency management, build automation, dependency injection and profile management using Maven; simplifying DOM Manipulation using Javascript, JQuery, HTML and CSS; Node JS experience for server-side JavaScript development and scalable web applications; React, Bootstrap and Typescript for developing responsive, modular, reusable UIcomponents and application state management; data modelling, query optimization and administration with Cassandra, MongoDB and Oracle; setting up deployment environments, databases, lambdas, monitoring, load balancing, VPCs, Secrets/certificate management in AWS cloud; Terraform for provisioning and creating AWS cloud infrastructure; performing Unit, functional, performance, regression, smoke, system integration, and user acceptance testing using Junit, Selenium, Cucumber, and automated testing frameworks; setting up Dynatrace, AWS CloudWatch, Splunk and Datadog for monitoring and observability.
