The Role:
Moderna Services, Inc. seeks a Software Engineer for its Seattle, Washington location.
Here’s What You’ll Do:

Support the development of cutting-edge technology initiatives and products to empower the technology roadmap across the organization.

Deliver code enhancements for software builds including refactoring and deprecating existing code.
-
Develop working code based on a functional definition of a problem such as the inputs, outputs, and logic, while demonstrating an understanding of the business and customer value of the assigned software.

Deliver code successfully with clear instructions from the team and manager with regular checkpoints including code reviews and daily standup.
-
Separate disparate components from each other and build software with more than one component.
-
Understand common tradeoffs among aspects of the code bar such as efficiency versus maintainability.
-
Create software applications with Java, Springboot, Javascript, Salesforce, AWS, Python, and SQL programming.
-
Use algorithms and data structures to design and develop logic for building software applications.
-
Building scalable cloud services.
-
Write scripts to analyze data and automate processes.
-
Build customer-facing software application features and functionalities.
-
Querying and managing databases and generate reports with SQL.
-
Use best-in-industry software engineering tools and processes such as source control and code review obtained from feedback on code developed.

Utilize database technologies for scalable storage of contact center data and for transaction processing, reporting, and analytics.

Follow an established procedure to diagnose and identify the root cause of problems with existing tools including Postman, VSCode, and Bitbucket.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
-
Actively mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews and maintain best practices.
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:
Minimum requirements:
-
Requires a minimum of a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or related field and one (1) year of experience as a Software Engineer or related position. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in the specified fields and three (3) years of the specified experience.

Must have one year of experience with:
-
Designing and developing logic for building software applications with algorithms & data structures;
-
Java to design, develop, and maintain software applications;
-
Writing data analysis and automations scripts with Python and Visual Basic;
-
Front end technologies including Javascript, HTML, and Cascading Style Sheets to build user-friendly interfaces;
-
AWS cloud technologies; and
-
DynamoDB and Relational Database Service for scalable storage of data, transaction processing, reporting, and analytics.

May telecommute up to 2 days per week.

Under Washington State law, Moderna is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for the jobs covered by this description. Base compensation for these positions in Washington State range from $120,500 to $193,000. Actual salary determinations will take into account factors such as work location, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge, and demonstrated skills. Compensation decisions are made on the facts and circumstances of each case. The minimum target pay for this particular position based on the primary location of the position is $176,800-$193,000.
