  • Develop and deploy scalable, high-performance Node.js applications in a cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Design and maintain robust APIs, ensuring seamless integration with third-party services.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that meets security and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with designers, product owners, and stakeholders to define and implement new features.
  • Optimize performance and fine-tune existing applications, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Ensure privacy and security best practices are embedded into everything you build.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by exploring emerging technologies in backend development.

How we work:

We balance creativity and innovation on a foundation of in-person collaboration. For most roles, our employees work three or more days in our offices, where they have the opportunity to collaborate in-person, adding richness to our culture and knitting us closer together.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2+ years related experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in back-end applications/services development with expertise in Node.js.
  • Knowledge of database technologies and agile development methodologies.
  • Experience working with databases, such as MySQL or MongoDB.
  • Familiarity with web development frameworks, such as Express.js.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and DevOps principles.

Nice to haves:

  • Relevant certification for Node.js from a recognized organization.
  • Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Working knowledge of test-driven development (TDD).

How we Reward you:

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
