We are seeking a Mid-Level Backend Software Engineer to join our innovative and fast-growing engineering team. In this role, you'll play a key part in building and maintaining our backend systems while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to drive technical excellence and product success. This role is for our Bellevue, WA office. Our team follows a hybrid schedule working in-office three days a week and remotely for the rest. This position requires in-person interviews. 

Each day can be different here at Nexxen, but some of the things you can expect to be doing are:

  • Develop and maintain reliable, scalable, and efficient backend services using modern technologies and frameworks
  • Perform code reviews
  • Participate in application troubleshooting and support, including a rotating assignment on pager duty for production issues
  • Write high-quality, well-tested code that is maintainable and adheres to best practices in software engineering
  • Identify bottlenecks and optimize system performance to improve speed, reliability, and cost-efficiency
  • Take ownership of your personal development by keeping up with the latest backend technologies, tools, and best practices. Continuously improve the development process and share knowledge within the team

What You'll Bring:

  • BS/MS (preferred) in Computer Science / Engineering or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of backend development experience with 2+ years of focus in Node.js
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Linux, RDBMS such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, and version control systems such as Git
  • Comfortable tackling complex technical problems and collaborating with others to find optimal solutions
  • Understanding of designing Web-based, Service-Oriented systems
  • A track record of impactful contributions under guidance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience integrating Data Science models into scalable platforms
  • Experience with PHP and SQL
  • Familiarity with Build Management, Continuous Integration, and Automated Testing (Maven, Jenkins)
  • Ad-tech knowledge

In support of pay transparency and equity, the minimum and maximum full-time annual base salary for this role in Bellevue is $140,000 - $170,000 at the time of posting, with the potential of an incentive or bonus. While this is our reasonable expectation this is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, certifications, responsibility, and geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. We offer a variety of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability insurance, 401(k), EAP, parental leave, discretionary time off, and company-paid holidays.
