Position Summary: 

The Software Engineer III is a key player on a development team, using an Agile development model in a fast-paced and innovative environment. The Software Engineer III is responsible for developing technical solutions to meet product and customer needs, training new team members, and communicating and collaborating with team members.

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Proactively influences squad communication and team dynamics
  • Collaborates with other team members within respective Agile squad and Tribe to define and develop technical solutions to meet product and customer needs
  • Creates and maintains documentation that is easily consumed by others
  • Improves the development experience at Truckstop by enhancing development tools, test coverage, and code structure
  • Improves code structure and architecture in service of testability and maintainability
  • Trains new squad members
  • Implements code that is clear, concise, tested, and easily understood by others
  • Is responsible for the entire lifecycle of their code: development, test, production, and subsequent fixes and improvements
  • Independently performs code reviews that follow Truckstop's published standards and practices and that are recognized by their team as helpful
  • Improves the development experience at Truckstop by enhancing development tools, test coverage, and/or code structure
  • Other duties as assigned or needed  

Position Requirements: 

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline with minimum 4 years of related experience
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented principles and software design pattern
  • Proficient in developing responsive web apps using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
  • Experience with .NET web frameworks, C#, VB.net, ASP.net, Windows Forms, WPF, JSON, XML and WebAPI
  • Experience writing Ad-Hoc SQL queries, Transactional Queries, and Stored Procedures
  • Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud services a plus
  • Strong hands-on programming experience with Javascript, JQuery
  • Experience with MS SQL including writing T-SQL queries and stored procedures
  • Experience with Visual Studio, including debugging tools
  • Experience using version control (especially TFS)
  • Familiarity with Testing: NUnit / WebDriver
  • Experience with Cloud technologies (especially AWS)
  • Basic windows networking and security knowledge
  • Proactively influence squad communication and team dynamics to accomplish the tactical mission of the squad
  • Collaborates with others across squads to remove impediments and blockers
  • Strong debugging and diagnostic skills
  • Design solutions that align with business and IT strategies and comply with the organization's architectural standards
  • Able to articulate complex technical topics to non-technical audiences
  • Skilled at clearly documenting design and concept ideas
  • Ability to give and receive feedback

In an effort to provide greater transparency, we are sharing the base salary range for this position. The position is also eligible for a yearly bonus. Final salary is based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, internal peer equity as well as business considerations.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$96,000$120,000 USD

The above description covers the most significant duties performed but does not include other related occasional work that may be assigned or is completed by the employee.
