The Sheet links and formulas team supports the backend sheet linking and formula features. These features are critical to the product and direction of the company. We are focused on scaling our backend services to handle 10-100x scale.
You will report to our Manager, Engineering located in our Bellevue, WA office, or you may work remotely from anywhere in the US where Smartsheet is a registered employer.
You Will:
- Delight our customers by implementing highly visible and impactful features and improving existing ones
- Design and build services that can consume, process and act on millions of user actions within Smartsheet and scale to 100x as our as our customers continues to grow
- Extend our RESTful API to support core functionality
- Develop and maintain server-side Java code
- Participate in all phases of quality assurance and defect resolution
You Have:
- 2+ years software development experience
- 2+ years Java or Kotlin experience
- Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis
- BS in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent industry experience
Nice to Have:
- MySQL database experience (performance, scalability, availability)
- Knowledge of Microservices in AWS or Google Cloud Platform
- Experience building REST-based APIs
- Experience with Elasticsearch, Memcached, or NoSQL data stores
- Familiarity with SaaS apps (Google Docs, Salesforce, etc.)

Smartsheet provides a competitive base salary range for roles that may be hired in different geographic areas we are licensed to operate our business from. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional, educational experience, skills, and specific candidate location. In addition, this role will be eligible for a market competitive incentive opportunity and some roles may be eligible for a RSU stock grant upon accepted offer.
US Pay Range
$120,000—$157,500 USD
