The opportunity.
Join our team as a Software Engineer, contributing to the expansion of our feature set for existing trading protocols. You'll play a key role in enhancing our platform to better support a growing client base and increased trading volumes. We are looking for an engineer with a background in capital markets, trading workflows, or electronic trading systems. Your skills in functional programming or object-oriented programming, network protocols, and messaging technologies will help shape our next-generation execution venue. If you're passionate about FinTech and eager to make a meaningful impact on the fixed income landscape, this is an exciting opportunity to join a tech-first organization. Within your first six months, you will tackle key projects such as:
- Feature Expansion: Enhance existing trading protocols to support a larger client set and handle increased trading volumes.
- System Optimization: Improve platform scalability and performance to ensure a seamless experience for all users.
Responsibilities include:
- Design, Develop and Test: Build protocols and features to meet functional and non-functional requirements.
- Support and Maintain: Ensure the reliability and availability of services developed by the team, addressing production issues and continuously improving operational processes.
- Optimize Performance: Improve system performance for low latency and high throughput, crucial in trading systems.
- Collaborate: Work with cross-functional teams to execute projects and contribute to a team-oriented culture.
About you.
We’re seeking an engineer with experience in financial services, trade workflows, or electronic trading systems. Your qualifications include:
- Industry Experience: 4-8 years of experience in software engineering, preferably in capital markets or trading workflows.
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in JVM-based languages (Scala preferred); ability to write clean and maintainable code.
- Distributed Systems: Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable systems.
- Network Protocols & Messaging: Familiarity with technologies such as TCP/IP, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Aeron.
- Cloud Technologies: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
- Performance Optimization: Understanding of low latency, high-throughput systems.
- SDLC Practices: Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies, including agile practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Continuous Improvement: Commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.

In compliance with New York City Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range for this role in New York City is between $150,000 - $175,000. This range does not include discretionary bonus or other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with this job. Trumid incorporates several factors when determining a candidate’s compensation. Please note that the salary range listed for this position is based on the level of experience outlined in the job description. If a candidate's experience differs from the requirements, the salary may be adjusted accordingly.
