Role: Software Engineer - Developer Experience (All Levels)

Base Salary Range: $120,000 to $226,000 + Equity

What you'll do:
Join our Developer Experience team, where we redefine and elevate the software development lifecycle (SDLC) at X. In this vital role, you'll be responsible for designing, building, and operating an array of tools and services that enhance developer productivity and experience. This encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities, including management of source code repositories, optimization of large-scale builds, code review and search, continuous integration and deployment, distributed testing, container registries, and more. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our software development processes.

2+ years of experience in large-scale software development, preferably with a focus on developer productivity.

A deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, with the ability to support and guide other developers through it.

Familiarity with a range of technologies such as Git, Phabricator, various IDEs, Bazel, Artifactory, Jenkins, Apache foundation software, CircleCI, Buck, Gradle, and other build and CI/CD systems.

The ability to identify and resolve complex performance and scalability issues within the development environment.
Qualifications

B.S.+ in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)

2+ years in large-scale software development, with a specific focus on developer productivity and efficiency.

Profound understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and concurrency principles..

Demonstrated adherence to software engineering best practices, including but not limited to agile development methodologies, unit testing, conducting code reviews, comprehensive design documentation, and advanced debugging and troubleshooting techniques.

A robust understanding of continuous integration processes and a proactive approach towards automation in software development practices.

Proficiency in JVM-based languages is essential. Additional knowledge of Python or Golang will be considered a significant asset.

Ability to tackle complex problems, think critically, and offer solutions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
