The Rentals Team is responsible for building features that empower a user’s rental search journey. Our team develops on the Rental Details Page and the Search map, two of the highest traffic page types for Redfin.com. Our full-stack team builds highly visible consumer facing UI as well as robust data ingestion pipelines and data services. By joining our team, you’ll have a chance to work on features that get seen by millions of users and work on multiple critical platforms and services.
Who We Are
- High impact and high visibility. We develop and maintain the highest visibility pages on redfin.com. Our work serves millions of customers daily and is the essential top of the funnel for Redfin’s businesses.
- Full Stack Full Ownership. We own our features from end to end. We build the pipelines to get data into databases all the way to the UI a user sees.
- Performance is critical. Because our features attract so much traffic, everything we develop must meet strict performance criteria. We dictate performance initiatives and best practices for the rest of the company because we have the most expertise and experience.
The Role
- You will develop responsive, resilient, scalable, and high-quality software using React, Java, AWS, and various other tools/libraries.
- You will balance the trade-offs between complex infrastructure investments and quick, pragmatic solutions to meet specific business needs.
- You will collaborate with other engineering and product stakeholders to define, design, and develop projects.
- You will mentor and guide other junior engineers
Who You Are
- 3+ years of professional full stack software development experience specifically in React and Java.
- Proven track record of designing, building, and maintaining scalable, high-performance web applications.
- You love elegant interfaces that can tell stories and inspire trust.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment, handle ambiguity, and empathize with customers.
- You are eager to help us in our mission to create a fundamentally better real estate experience for our customers.

The compensation information below is provided in compliance with all applicable disclosure requirements.
Base Pay Range: $121,900.00 - 165,100.00. Actual base pay will depend on varying circumstances, including the position, location, individual qualifications, market finances, and other operational business needs. Compensation may also include bonuses and equity.
