The Team

The HR Technology team is foundational to Upstart’s continued success as we scale. Among other things, this team is responsible for the architecture, infrastructure and development of our people systems. You will be joining a company with engaged founders and leaders, strong values (practiced daily!) and operational rigor and discipline. As a Senior Workday Analyst at Upstart, you’ll be responsible for configuration, maintenance and enhancement of Workday HCM, specifically for all areas touching Total Rewards (Compensation and Benefits). A successful candidate in this role will be experienced in supporting Compensation and Benefits configuration and integrations. 

Position Location - This role is available in the following locations: Remote

Time Zone Requirements - This team operates on the East/West Coast time zones.

Travel Requirements - This team has regular on-site collaboration sessions. These occur 2-3 days per Month at the San Mateo office. If you need to travel to make these meetups, Upstart will cover all travel related expenses.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Support Upstart’s multi-year people process and technology roadmap through subject matter expertise and administration across all areas of Workday HCM product, with specific focus on Compensation and Benefits.
  • Drive the strategic process for new initiatives holistically in terms of data/insights analysis, business proposals, requirements gathering, planning, development, implementation, stakeholder management and on-going support
  • Implement solutions that ensure data is complete, accurate, secure, and appropriately mapped for reports, dashboards, and downstream reporting systems
  • Partner with stakeholders such as IT and HR Ops to provide input into new processes, prioritize projects/enhancements, map business processes, implement creative and effective solutions that will shape the way Upstart operates now and into the future
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues and defects with exceptional customer service
  • Continually increase personal knowledge and maintain individual development through learning and research

What we’re looking for: 

  • Minimum qualifications:
    • Strong configuration knowledge of Workday HCM, including Core HCM, Benefits, Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Security, and Integrations
    • Strong Workday Reporting including Advanced Reports, Matrix and composite reports
    • Understand Workday security, SOX compliance, and controls to effectively manage and maintain security and roles
  • Preferred qualifications:
    • WD certifications (preferred but not required)
    • Passion to learn additional Workday modules
    • Open and enthusiastic to mentor and develop team members
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to prioritize tasks 
    • Ability adapt and live by Upstart values

At Upstart, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package.  The anticipated base salary for this position is expected to be within the below range. Your actual base pay will depend on your geographic location–with our “digital first” philosophy, Upstart uses compensation regions that vary depending on location. Individual pay is also determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

In addition, Upstart provides employees with target bonuses, equity compensation, and generous benefits packages (including medical, dental, vision, and 401k).

$104,500$144,550 USD
