Enterprise Technology owns Blue Origin's product and software development and codifies operational processes and methodologies into intelligent products that enable the design, planning, manufacturing, launch, and maintenance of our rockets. Enterprise Technology's UX designers enable these products by researching our internal customers’ needs, and crafting solutions into professional user experiences.

We’re looking for a Senior UX Designer to further accelerate our vision in the quality and configuration management business space — focusing on the customer experience of planning and managing engineering configurations for the new age of space-faring vehicles and ensuring the quality and verification of those products. In this role, you will share responsibility for crafting the vision for our next-generation product suite and leading the execution of that vision. You'll craft elegant design solutions across a range of personas and platforms, collaborate closely with product and engineering partners, and scale your solutions throughout Blue’s Operations organization.

To succeed in this role, you must be an innovative self-starter, a strategic big-picture thinker, and a dedicated collaborator. UX designers serve to help define and visualize problems to solve, as well as working with partners to guide discovery and design solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with business partners, product, and engineering leads to scope, strategize and model solutions to a variety of business challenges.

  • Conduct and synthesize research into Journey maps, persona development and task flow models.

  • Participate in peer design critiques

  • Rapidly prototype design solutions (Figma)

  • Nurture effective partnerships with Software Engineering, Product Management and Business Engagement leaders to deliver world-class software solutions.

  • Effectively present proposed design solutions

  • Interview stakeholders to understand business goals and priorities

  • Manage time effectively - even with competing project priorities

  • Incorporate user feedback to continuously iterate and improve upon existing solutions

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of applied experience creating software solutions, enterprise software experience is a plus.

  • 2 years building scalable solutions and services

  • Fluent in design thinking methodologies, able to focus a team on goals, and both strategic and tactical solutions

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills-able to clearly present design logic

  • A demonstrated history of becoming an expert in an unfamiliar domain.

  • Intense curiosity for understanding the details of our business and how to continuously improve it.

  • A high level of initiative to overcome obstacles and drive towards action

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion 

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.  


 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $164,415.00-$230,179.95
