About the Role
As a Technical Project Manager (TPjM), you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between our advanced technology and our customers' needs. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, project management acumen, and customer-facing skills.The Technical Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution, and completion of technical projects, ensuring that they align with customer requirements and Agility Robotics' objectives. This role is critical in coordinating cross-functional teams and managing project timelines, budgets, and resources. The TPjM will work closely with the Senior Technical Account Manager (STAM) to ensure seamless project delivery and customer satisfaction. The TPjM is accountable for the successful completion of projects according to plan.
About the Work
- Customer Delivery Alignment: Partner with internal teams to ensure alignment with customer roadmaps, goals, and delivery milestones. Work closely with the Senior Technical Account Manager (STAM) and other commercial team members to ensure that project plans and technical requirements are in sync with customer expectations. Act as a liaison between multiple engineering and commercial teams to prioritize, plan, and execute projects effectively.
- Technical Project Leadership: Drive project goals while managing complex design engineering deliverables. Support initial product introduction phases, such as Proof of Concepts (POCs), pilots, and RaaS (Robotics as a Service) deployments, ensuring successful integration, validation of use cases, and achievement of KPIs. Define project requirements, support program requirements, set priorities, establish roadmaps, and create long-term strategies. Drive interdisciplinary project teams to hit milestones with accountability. Manage the technical and non-technical aspects of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Customer Facing Role: Identify opportunities to enhance customer interactions, from initial engagement through deployment and ongoing support. Proactively identify customer concerns and ensure satisfaction.
- Produce and Maintain Technical Documentation and Schedules: Using project management principles, execute on assigned work, solutions, and KPIs working within scope. Define processes and work needed to achieve customer requirements supporting our strategy for scaling at Agility Robotics.
- Proactive Issue Management: Take ownership of resolving technical and non-technical challenges that impact project delivery to commercial customers, escalating issues as needed. Collaborate with stakeholders to implement preventative measures and minimize risks to delivery timelines. Solve complex problems, whether in our own facilities or during customer POCs, Demos, and Deployments.
- TPjM Communications: Develop and own communication plans to effectively communicate program status, issues, and risks to stakeholders, including executive leadership. Ensure transparency and accountability by providing clear, concise updates on project and customer outcome progress.
- Data-Driven Approach: Work with teams to collect, analyze, and interpret data related to project performance and customer outcomes. Ensure data-based decisions.
- Cross-functional Influencer: Manage projects intersecting various cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers. Build processes and coordinate release schedules to ensure smooth project execution.
About You
- Technical Background: A technical background in any engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Robotics, etc) is required.
- Experience: Experience in robotics, industrial automation, or warehouse automation is preferred.
- Communication: Strong communication mastery in both written and verbal.
- Multitasking: Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving aptitude and ability to resolve technical challenges.
- Business Skills: Demonstrated business analytical skills, including budgeting, planning, assessing, and scoping capabilities.
- Project Leadership: Proven influencing qualities with the ability to lead and motivate project teams.
- Agility: Ability to understand and predict dependencies and adjust to changing conditions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 7+ years experience in consumer or industrial electronics, and a strong understanding of complex systems.
- Experience in project management across cross-functional teams (including multi-disciplinary engineering), building processes, and coordinating release schedules.
- 5+ years project experience driving project goals across engineering functions internally and with outside vendors, and managing complex design engineering deliverables.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems and provide hands-on project management.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
