Senior Technical Program Manager
The Search and Discovery Relevance team is looking for a thoughtful and dedicated Program Manager to build out the learning systems for the Search Platform. You will drive the development of a scalable end to end data/ai solution that will form the backbone of our vision of Travel Search.

This role provides a unique opportunity to create innovations and ground-breaking change using cloud, big data and machine learning technologies. You will be able to incubate and experiment newer technologies and platforms to demonstrate value of machine learning and enable data consumptions at scale with agility.  Bring passion and dedication to your job and there's no telling what you could accomplish.

What you’ll do:

  • Help Build business-critical backend systems using stream processors and high-quality data pipelines.
  • Work in a cross-functional team of Engineers and Data scientists to design and deliver large scale batch and real-time data pipelines on AWS.
  • Help assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
  • Perform root cause analysis on external and internal processes and data to identify opportunities for improvement and answer questions
  • Build processes that support data transformation, workload management, data structures, dependency and metadata
  • Facilitate planning, retrospectives, and other meetings necessary to keep the team in sync
  • Adopt change, always open to replacing what you built yesterday with something better today.

Who you are:

  • 10+ years’ experience gathering business requirements and turning them into detailed functional design specifications.
  • 10+ years’ experience managing projects with Agile methodology.
  • You are not only skilled on a technical front but also an excellent communicator with a bias for action. You have focus and strong sense of ownership. You are a key technical resource capable of driving cross-team design and architecture reviews across our development team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritize workload effectively, and thrive in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Solid understanding of technical architecture for sophisticated and highly scalable back end applications
  • Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc. is a plus
  • Experience with microservice architecture, and design.
  • Proven track record of building and optimizing data sets, 'big data' data pipelines and architectures
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills associated with working on unstructured datasets

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $173,000.00 to $242,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $277,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
