Position Overview
We're searching for a Senior Staff Software Engineer (Backend) to join our dynamic team in the remote work environment. The team plays a key role in the design, development, and enhancement of web applications and automated processes for the insurance industry. In this position, you'll primarily focus on building robust back-end solutions using Python, while also contributing to the front-end with React and TypeScript. You will collaborate closely with all members of our Engineering team to support cloud architecture and ensure the seamless operation of our cutting-edge web applications.

What You'll Do

• Work with the team to design and implement software utilizing Object Oriented principles, design patterns, and testing practices
• D esign user-based interactions through effective front-end architecture
• D esign and implement RESTful services and APIs on Google Cloud
• R eview code written by peers, focusing on readability and efficiency
• P articipate in weekly stand-ups in an Agile environment with both local and remote employees
• I ntegrate with 3 rd party APIs (both REST and SOAP)
• E nsure the entire stack is designed and built for security, speed, and scalability

We're Excited to Learn More About You
Your experience may include:

• 5+ years of experience building web applications and web services using Python, Typescript, React
• S trong understanding of the web development cycle and programming techniques and tools
• F amiliarity with Django, FastAPI, and JavaScript frameworks such as React and AngularJS.
• H ighly experienced with back-end programming languages (Python)
• P roficiency with microservice architecture, event-driven programming, async design
• G it and continuous integration best practices
• U nderstanding and implementation of security and data protection
• E xcellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and a head for problem-solving
• F amiliarity with Agile development methodologies

You may have other skills or credentials, including:

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, Kanban a plus
• U nderstanding and implementation of security and data protection
• S trong understanding of Azure or AWS or GCP
