OverviewAbout the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will develop multiple new products from the ground up, tailored for various Instacart partners such as retailers and brands. Your role will involve shaping the product vision alongside close collaboration with end customers and the product team. Additionally, you will enhance the architectural framework to increase delivery speed and facilitate swift product development. About the Team

The Fulfillment organization at Instacart is responsible for all aspects of the order life cycle, both for full-service orders picked by Instacart shoppers and orders backed by Instacart’s white-label integration with retail partners.

Overview of the Fulfillment teams that are currently hiring

Delivery Team: The Delivery team is a full-stack team that handles the Instacart shopper’s experience after in-store checkout through dropping off the order at a customer’s address. We own the navigational process and all aspects of the handoff experience, including surfaces like customer geolocation, identity verification, handling unattended deliveries, and returns. Our primary goal is to optimize for perfect deliveries that are facilitated on time and without interruption, and we contribute to the company’s overall growth by driving additional profit on each order.

Enterprise Fulfillment: You will be joining the broader Enterprise Fulfillment organization at Instacart, a key division that develops solutions to help retailers increase their digital grocery sales. This organization plays a crucial role in driving billions in Instacart's Gross Transaction Value (GTV) and is experiencing rapid growth. The team creates services and products that assist retailers in fulfilling orders placed on their website through our fulfillment services. This includes SaaS services like Pick & Delivery and Delivery Only, as well as mobile applications like the Pickup App, which supports retailers in managing their in-store picking operations with their own staff.

Logistics: The Logistics team builds and optimizes core systems that power Instacart's delivery operations, focusing on critical areas such as delivery time predictions, batching optimization, pricing, and incentives. Leveraging advanced machine learning, the team develops reliable, cost-efficient solutions that enable Instacart to scale effectively while enhancing satisfaction for customers, shoppers, and retailers. Our goal is to ensure that every aspect of the logistics process functions seamlessly and efficiently, driving consistent improvements to delivery accuracy, operational reliability, and overall platform growth.
