As a Sr. Software Engineer you will be part of a diverse and talented organization focused on building and maintaining complex web applications for Disney Studio brands. You will be a member of a team building the experiences for some of the most recognizable brands in the world such as Marvel, Disney, and Star Wars working with modern server-side and web technologies such as JavaScript, Node and React to deliver scalable and elegant solutions for new product features and core site architecture.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and develop core site functionality using server-side templating and JavaScript
  • Prototype new features and research applicable technologies
  • Implement best practices to continually increase performance and scalability
  • Review code and pull requests to ensure product and design specifications are met
  • Work with product and project management to refine specs and timelines
  • Partner with other engineering teams to deliver best solutions
  • Mentor and provide feedback to junior engineers


Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years relevant industry experience
  • BS, BA or advanced degree in computer science, engineering, or its equivalent
  • Proven understanding of front-end web development technologies and principles
  • Comprehensive knowledge of JavaScript, JS frameworks, and server-side templating
  • Experience with task automation (Grunt, Gulp, WebPack) and CSS Preprocessors (Less, Sass)
  • Demonstrated ability to research and learn new technologies
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Driven and self motivated


The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles is $136,100 - $182,400 per year and in San Francisco is $149,000 - $199,800 per year and in Seattle and New York is $142,600 - $191,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
