Job Description:

About the Role:

The Developer Experience owns most of the software development life-cycle at Remitly. Our mission is to provide our developers with world-class tools, workflows, and processes so that they can ship amazing products efficiently and with confidence. As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you'll work on highly technical problems including developer environments, test infrastructure, developer frameworks and build systems and debuggers. Our business operates in a highly regulated financial technology domain, serving customers across the entire globe. You will have the opportunity to build intricate solutions that reconcile developer productivity with strict requirements pertaining to security, privacy, and compliance. This position will report to the Engineering Manager of Developer Experience. This role will be hybrid and based in Seattle, WA.

You Will:

  • Design, develop and maintain large-scale developer tools and infrastructure
  • Own core developer products: Source-control, build systems, test infrastructure, developer environments, developer frameworks and continuous integration and deployment
  • Be passionate about end-to-end software development life-cycle and establish and maintain best practices for developer productivity
  • Be a trusted partner with Infrastructure and Security teams holding Remitly to the highest standards for security and compliance
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry best practices to constantly improve our developer experiences on par with the size and complexity of our tech stack

You Have:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in a team environment
  • 2+ years of experience with developer tools, and cloud infrastructure
  • Proficient in at least one high-level programming language such as Java, Go, Python, and Typescript
  • Innate curiosity and a desire to be responsible for all aspects of building Remitly's Developer Platform in a growing team
  • Strong written and in-person communication skills
  • A passion for learning new technologies and systems

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $180,000 - $225,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
