BigCommerce, named a 2025 "Best Place to Work" in Austin, TX is looking for a Senior Salesforce Solutions Architect to lead the architecture, design, and implementation of Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and related modules.

In this pivotal role, you will focus on developing technical strategy, solution planning, mentorship, and system optimization to meet evolving business needs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Salesforce architecture, solution design, and development, with the ability to guide both business and technical teams towards scalable, efficient Salesforce implementation 

What you’ll do:

  • Own the end-to-end Salesforce architecture, ensuring Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and key modules are implemented following best practices

  • Design and Develop Apex Triggers, Classes, Lightning Components as per business requirements

  • Lead Salesforce custom development efforts in the design and development, including Apex triggers, classes, Visualforce pages, Lightning components, and flows

  • Plan and design Salesforce solutions, mapping business requirements to technical implementations while considering long-term scalability and system performance

  • Define standards, guidelines, and best practices for Salesforce development, data modeling, and security

  • Provide effort estimations, architectural guidance, and risk assessments for Salesforce projects.

  • Ensure proper documentation, process alignment, and governance to manage Salesforce enhancements and integrations

  • Design and implement integration strategies with other enterprise applications (ERP, marketing automation, etc.)

  • Oversee Salesforce data architecture and migration strategies, ensuring data integrity and compliance

  • Mentor and coach developers, providing technical guidance and support on Salesforce best practices

  • Conduct code reviews, architectural discussions, and hands-on training to develop the team's technical capabilities

  • Be a vocal advocate for technical excellence, secure software development, superior quality and test-driven software development practices; help the team members make sound engineering decisions.  Enforce development practices to ensure the quality delivery of enterprise solutions.

  • Advocate for modern development practices, such as CI/CD, automated testing, and proper version control

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying areas to enhance efficiency and scalability.

  • Participate the product roadmap discussion, represent the product/platform in the architecture review boards, and advice product management team on the technical aspects of product strategy

  • Develop and maintain Salesforce technical roadmaps, aligning with business goals and ensuring seamless system integrations

  • Partner with business units, sales operations, customer support, and other stakeholders to align Salesforce solutions with strategic objectives

  • Serve as a trusted advisor, helping teams optimize and fully leverage Salesforce capabilities.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and cross-functional teams to design scalable, secure, and high-performance Salesforce solutions

Who You Are:

  • 12+ years of experience in Salesforce architecture, development, and administration.

  • Hands-on experience managing large Salesforce Orgs with 1000+ users

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent experience

  • Salesforce.com certification is required: Administrator, Platform Developer, Application Architect, System Architect or Certified Technical Architect

  • Strong hands-on experience with Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components, Flow Builder, and integration patterns

  • Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, version control (Git), and ALM processes

  • Experience with SOAP/REST APIs and third-party integrations

  • Exceptional communication skills, especially in teaching complex concepts, and creative, prescriptive thinking to the development team. Also have the ability to facilitate discussions, manage stakeholder expectations, and drive clarity across teams

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, balancing speed, quality, and business impact

Nice to Have:

  • Salesforce.com Certified Sales Cloud or Service Cloud Consultant

  • Salesforce.com Certified Architect 

  • Experience with Salesforce Community, Knowledge, and Experience Cloud is a plus.

  • Experience with Marketo or other GTM tech stack tools

(Pay Transparency Range: $127,000.00 - $215,000.00)

The exact salary will be dependent on the successful candidate’s location, relevant knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
