What you will own: 

  • Monthly Commission Payouts & Accruals: Calculate monthly commission payouts for the sales team, providing the finance team with monthly accruals and finalized payout schedules for payroll processing.
  • Commission Tool Administration: Administer and maintain the commission management tool (e.g., Spiff), ensuring accurate commission calculations and payouts. Manage and validate sales data in Spiff and Salesforce to ensure data integrity.
  • Auditing & Issue Resolution: Perform regular audits of sales compensation data to ensure accurate and timely payments. Identify discrepancies, resolve issues proactively, and handle exceptions in a timely manner, in compliance with compensation policies.
  • Point of Contact: Act as the primary point of contact for sales team members, sellers, and managers regarding variable compensation questions, issues, and exceptions. Ensure compensation-related inquiries are resolved effectively and in line with company policies.
  • Compensation Documentation & Quota Management: Execute documentation for creating, changing, and publishing compensation plan documents, ensuring signatures are obtained as needed. Oversee and manage the process of assigning and adjusting sales quotas, aligning them with company objectives and account assignments. 


What you will assist with: 

  • Compensation Plan Design: Assist in conducting simulations to assess the impact of proposed compensation plan changes, ensuring they drive desired sales behaviors and support financial goals. Support design, review, and recommendation of compensation plan mechanics based on market trends, sales performance, and business requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales Leadership to assist with territory/account assignments and management, ensuring alignment with compensation goals. Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Finance, HR, People Operations) to ensure compensation strategies are aligned with business goals and comply with relevant regulations. 


What you will learn: 

  • Learn the intricacies of Spiff and other internal tools and systems to optimize their setup and use for compensation management.
  • Gain a deeper understanding of the company’s sales strategy and its impact on compensation planning, territory management, and sales quotas.
  • Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders across Sales, Finance, and HR to influence and implement changes to compensation plans based on business needs. 


A bit about you: 

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with compensation management software (e.g., Xactly, Spiff, or similar tools).
  • Strong understanding of sales compensation structures, quota assignment methodologies, and compensation audit processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work.


Within 1 month, you’ll…

  • Become proficient in understanding the different compensation plans and how they are structured.
  • Reconcile and comprehend sales data that impacts compensation formulas.
  • Meet with Sales Managers and the RevOps team to build relationships and understand their priorities.


Within 3 months, you’ll…

  • Own the monthly compensation process, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
  • Begin recommending and implementing process improvements for efficiency.
  • Answer compensation-related inquiries and serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on compensation plan structure.
  • Identify opportunities to better leverage Spiff, the Incentive Compensation Management tool.


Within 6 months, you’ll…

  • Drive discussions on compensation plan design and updates to compensation documents.
  • Collaborate with FP&A to analyze ramp assumptions for new hires and account ownership.
  • Play an integral part in the quota setting process and recommend adjustments to account assignments.
  • Work with leadership to propose and implement changes to the compensation plan.
  • Optimize the setup and usage of Spiff and improve the approval process for compensation exceptions and escalations.
  • Manage the Sales Compensation Committee to handle compensation exceptions and escalations.


Within 12 months, you’ll…

  • Lead the sales compensation planning processes, driving successful plan launches across the organization.
  • Independently build Spiff calculations to capture new plan designs.
  • Work with RevOps to ensure seamless integration of Salesforce data with Spiff.
  • Stay informed about the company’s products and how they impact compensation plans.
  • Continuously collaborate with stakeholders to optimize compensation strategies and support business goals.

This hiring range reflects base salary and assumes that the job will be performed in the United States.
