Reporting to the Director of Research & Insights, the successful Senior Analyst, Research & Insights, will be a collaborative and motivated team member, helping to inform and execute against the company’s ambitious research agenda and projects. This person will support the Research & Insights leaders, the wider Strategy leadership team, and other key business stakeholders in deriving insights from data and synthesizing them for internal stakeholders.
This person will have experience in structuring and analyzing primary and secondary research (both qualitative and quantitative). They will be comfortable dealing with uncertainty and be able to objectively synthesize data and develop insights and implications. This individual will work in a dynamic team environment using third party resources to help identify and understand the market trends and competitor activity, and primary research to understand customer preferences of the higher education and ed tech landscapes.
The Senior Analyst will be responsible for conducting market research and analysis on assigned topics, have experience utilizing advanced analytical techniques to derive insights from research data, and become an expert on connecting the insights to address strategic business questions. A critical success factor in this role is going beyond ‘gathering’ and into synthesis, packaging, and dissemination of actionable insights to a wide spectrum of internal customers and stakeholders.
A Day in the Life
The essential functions of this role are as follows:

Plan, design, and execute market intelligence and research projects including gathering and analyzing relevant data on market trends, competitive activity, surveys, interviews and other key insights to provide business insights to the organization

Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities for growth and threats to the business, including competitive intelligence, industry trends, and regulatory changes

Analyze research data using advanced statistical techniques and data visualization tools to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can drive business decisions

Develop an understanding of the higher education industry, including emerging trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape

Evaluate and make third party data resources and platform recommendations as needed to support and/or amplify research capabilities and accuracy

Support operational teams with relevant research, data, and insights; examples include but not limited to competitive intelligence, higher education enrollment trends, job market analysis.

Build relationships with a broad set of cross-functional business partners to understand their challenges and priorities and drive actions through insight delivery.

Synthesize research analysis and findings into implication-focused insights that clearly communicate the data and learning for audiences across the organization

Package and communicate research findings and recommendations to stakeholders across the organization, including senior leadership, marketing, sales, and product development teams
What You’ll Need for Success
You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, statistics, social sciences or a related field

3+ years of experience in management consulting, market research, consumer insights or related fields; experience in higher education market or supplier side market research a plus

Track record of successfully delivering projects especially on high velocity initiatives

Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g., Qualtrics, SPSS, etc.)

Expertise in qualitative and quantitative primary and secondary research methodologies, including identifying data needs, survey design, sampling, and data analysis

Familiarity with advanced analytical techniques, such as machine learning, predictive modeling, and text analytics

Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders

Strong project management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Demonstrated voice-of-the-consumer / student-centric mindset and approach

Accessible, approachable, and collaborative, with a desire to constantly improve and learn
