About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our Architecture team. You will have the opportunity to help ensure we provide stable solutions that deliver the reliability our customers rely on. Our Architecture team works across our entire suite of automated endpoint management products. You will be generating software testing frameworks, enhancing our existing software products. You are the technical advisor to our software development teams to ensure they adhere to modern conventions and standards and produce quality and error free product delivery.
Apply your expertise in software quality assurance and testing best practices to influence our engineering teams to identify and deliver performance optimizations of our existing products and infrastructure. You will work with top-tier engineers as you manage new and exciting challenges that impact on our software product quality and customer satisfaction.
Location - We are flexible on remote working from home, if you are located in the USA and reside in one of the following states - CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, *IL, KS, ME, MA, NJ, NC, OR, TX and VA. We have physical offices in Austin, TX and Tampa, FL, if you prefer a hybrid option.
We hire the best talent, but experience in our stack can't hurt: NinjaOne is built on Java, Kotlin, C++, Golang, and Postgres, supporting millions of user endpoints and running as a scalable cloud service in AWS. Knowing large-scale datastore bottlenecks, asynchronous application design and client-server architecture will help you.
What You'll be Doing

  • Quality Testing & Troubleshooting: responsible for comprehensive software testing, guaranteeing impeccable feature releases. Develop and maintain accurate test plans and ensure compliance across all platforms.
  • Technical Strategy: give architectural insight into the best way to achieve goals using the current or new testing infrastructure. Participate and evangelize quality and a testing first approach in our software development life cycle from beginning to end.
  • Collaboration: work alongside our talented developers, product managers, and leaders across teams throughout the software development life cycle, ensuring that quality standards are always achieved.
  • Documentation: create detailed reports on the quality and functionality of software applications after thorough testing. Ensure any defects or issues are documented clearly for the development teams to address.
  • Test Automation: you will create and review automated tests to ensure regression coverage across our products. Create and evaluate requirements for designing test scenarios from those requirements to ensure maximum testing traceability. Implement new testing automation against our existing applications. Work with development teams to define a testing protocol for new features as they are designed and developed.
  • Performance Testing: performance engineering experience in scalable and high-performing applications. You will apply your expertise to influence our engineering teams in identifying and pursuing performance optimizations of existing products and infrastructure.
  • Other duties as needed.


About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or any other relevant technical degree, equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Manual Quality Assurance (QA) Testing.
  • 3+ years of experience in Automation Testing.
  • You have a keen attention to detail, ensuring all bugs and inconsistencies are mitigated. Your ability to think on your feet, coupled with analytical prowess for identifying, documenting, resolving and escalating software code issues as they arise.
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Previous experience working on at least 2 of the 3 operating systems: Linux (preferred) Windows or MAC.
  • Strong understanding of databases, including proficiency in SQL and experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL (preferred).
  • Technical Lead QA Engineer experience would make you a standout candidate.
  • Outstanding communication skills.

*Due to operational policies, NinjaOne is unable to hire for this role within the city limits of Chicago. We will consider all qualified candidates who reside outside of the city proper or are willing to self-relocate.
Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to location, market demands, experience, job-related knowledge, and skills. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage and PTO. For roles based in California or Colorado, the base salary hiring range for this position is $80,000 to $145,000 per year.
