The Position:

At GameChanger, we score and stream millions of youth sports games annually. As the Senior Platform Product Manager on the Video team, you will work with a talented team of engineers to develop our video pipeline end to end to ensure we have a scalable and resilient platform to handle millions of annual streams. You will need to have a firm grasp of video streaming, recording, and encoding concepts to help lead iterations of our current live and post-game video capabilities for our internal product teams. You will work with your product management peers to guide user experiences that bring the magic of GameChanger to every team. You will report to one of our Product Management Directors.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the team through the designing, building, and supporting of our video capabilities, including third-party device support (such as GoPro and Mevo), mobile first-party live broadcasting/capture, ingest, transcode, storage, and playback.

  • Partner with engineering and our infrastructure teams to manage a resilient, scalable, and efficient video pipeline.

  • Collaborate with other feature teams to contribute to GC’s overall vision for video streaming technology, influence product decisions, and build video capabilities.

  • Analyze external and internal user and business need through user interviews, data analysis, and market research and improve the live and VOD streaming experiences based on findings.

  • Ensure that your team is prioritizing the most important and impactful work.

  • Launch fast and iterate often with a talented team of engineers.

  • Document and manage product KPIs to ensure they’re aligned and performing across teams.

What You’ll Bring

  • Background in video streaming, with a focus on user-generated content live streaming technologies.

  • Ability to partner with Engineering to evaluate and expand our current video ingestion pipeline.

  • Solid experience with video ingestion, live streaming, encoding and decoding, and other software engineering principals and architectures required for a resilient, scalable, and secure video cloud infrastructure (we use AWS).

  • Experience leading teams with a focus on collaboration and achieving high-quality product goals.

Who You Are:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management or product engineering, working with video or live streaming in mobile-first applications.

  • Demonstrated experience implementing large-scale projects and achieving positive user outcomes across multiple engineering teams and domains.

  • Experience communicating product updates, milestones, and progress to all kinds of internal and external partners.

  • Working knowledge of software development cycles including infrastructure, continuous integration, developer tooling, open source use, and documentation.

  • Experience with data-informed decision-making to lead the platform forward.

The target salary range for this position is between $160,000 and $180,000. This is part of a total compensation package that includes incentive, equity, and benefits for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by several factors including experience, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We constantly review all teammate pay to ensure a great compensation package that is fair and equal across the board.
