Our engineering culture values pragmatism, honesty, and simplicity to solve hard problems the right way.

  • Influence decisions by providing technical consultation and direction to stakeholders.
  • Deliver technical marketing literature to generate awareness and drive adoption of platform features.
  • Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the platform and report on them to business and executive leadership.

Who You Are:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Product Manager leading software development lifecycles (SDLC).
  • You have extensive experience and understanding working with cloud-native architecture.
  • You have excellent API lifecycle management, API gateways, load balancing, rate-limiting, throttling, security and charge models
  • You are obsessed with user experience and have built strong UI based products.
  • You possess a deep understanding of technologies across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • You possess the ability to gain a deep understanding of the system architecture and design concepts behind complex, enterprise-class software solutions at high transaction volumes.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision making mindset.
  • You have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We know not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That’s okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your experience, we encourage you to apply.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
