About Vantage:

Vantage is a cloud cost visibility and optimization platform, alternatively known as a FinOps platform. We help companies of all sizes manage their cloud infrastructure costs: everything from individual developers all the way up to multiple Fortune 500 customers. Our co-founders are industry veterans who have been former infrastructure engineers and product managers at DigitalOcean and AWS. The company is an efficient and hard working team of ~45 employees across the US with a New York City center of gravity.  As we transition to the growth phase of the business, it’s likely our team size will at least double by the end of 2025.

Our current customers include Square, Aflac, PBS, FanDuel, Compass, PlanetScale, Starburst, Vercel, and many more.

Vantage has raised $25M in total venture capital, most recently a $21M Series A financing round in March of 2023.  Our investors include outstanding, top-tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Scale Venture Partners, Matthew Prince (Co-Founder & CEO, Cloudflare), Calvin French Owen (Co-Founder, Segment), Ben and Moisey Uretsky (Co-Founders, DigitalOcean), Stephanie and Nat Friedman (CEO, Github), Julia Lipton, Brianne Kimmel and others.

About the Role:

At Vantage, designers are granted extensive creative freedom, along with the autonomy to initiate and guide innovative projects that are centered around design. This role could be a perfect match for you if you're passionate about the potential for creative growth, discovering key insights to enhance conversion rates, elevating the user experience and exploring new ideas.

What You’ll Do:

  • Taking broad, conceptual ideas and turning them into something useful and valuable for people using our products

  • Collecting and analyzing user behavior data through a variety of channels, such as user testing, semi-formal interviews, observation, surveys, etc.

  • Conceptualizing designs from wireframes and visual mockups to prototypes

  • Owning the end-to-end design (interaction, visual, etc.) across multiple features and projects

  • Thinking holistically about complex systems, empathize with users, and understand goals to create compelling user experiences

  • Collaboratively improving our design systems to ensure consistency and high quality experiences across all of our products.

  • Influencing design practices and team operations within a (mostly) remote team

  • Staying on top of industry trends and emerging technologies

What We’re Looking For:

  • 6+ years of industry experience as a Product, Interaction or UX Designer.

  • A portfolio that reflects your strengths in both UX and visual design skills, including multiple shipped projects on which you were the primary designer.

  • A product mindset with the ability to understand product goals, identify opportunities, and make decisions based on the impact to people and the company.

  • Been part of successful cross-functional and outcome-oriented teams.

  • An eye for detail and a high-bar for design quality.

  • Experience working in a technical environment.

  • Excitement about defining the problem as you do about exploring solutions.

  • A kind person

Bonus Points:

  • Experience at early stage startup (Seed to Series A)

  • Experience at companies building enterprise saas solutions for cloud, FinOps, finance, DevOps or devtools.

  • Experience working with HTML and CSS

  • Prototyping in code, Figma, Framer or similar

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
