Flex is building a finance super app for business owners — reimagining every single aspect of the financial workflow and financial services for any entrepreneur. The company has grown revenue 25x+ since publicly launching in September 2023 and is on track to achieve profitability by mid 2025. Flex is focused on mid-market businesses ($3 - $100M revenue) that are largely overlooked by existing fintech solutions and reliant on slow and outdated regional banks.  We are targeting a ~$1T revenue opportunity that is largely up for grabs.

Flex is a fully remote company and this role can be performed from anywhere.

The Role

As a Product Designer you will be an integral part of our product development team, responsible for creating visually stunning and user-friendly designs for a wide range of digital products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and stakeholders, to bring ideas from concept to reality. Your keen eye for detail, creative flair, and understanding of user needs will play a critical role in shaping the success of our products in the marketplace. If you are a former, future, or interested future founder, you're likely in the right place. Flex's Design team is a place where a growth mindset and a passion for craft are necessities. You'll be part of a small, high trajectory team with abundant opportunities for impact and ownership.

We are open to candidates in the Americas, available during EST and speak fluent English.

  • Develop high-fidelity visual designs, including wireframes, prototypes, and mock-ups, that showcase product features and interactions. Ensure consistency across all platforms and devices.
  • Create intuitive and seamless user experiences by designing clear user flows and interaction models that anticipate user behavior and needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and manufacturing, to ensure design feasibility and seamless integration of the product into the development lifecycle.
  • Improve and contribute to Flex's design system.
  • Leverage AI to create huge impact.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in product design. Contribute to brainstorming sessions and ideation workshops to drive innovation within the team.
  • Prepare and maintain design documentation, specifications, and guidelines to ensure a smooth handoff to the development team.
  • Work closely with engineering to ensure design implementation accuracy and provide design support during the development phase.

  • At least 5 years experience as a UX/UI designer. Ideally in Fintech, banking, insurance, credit cards.
  • Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
