Position Summary:
We are looking for a motivated colleague to join our fast-growing Product Management team. This team is charged with developing new and innovative insurance products as well as managing our growing and increasingly diversified national portfolio of admitted and surplus lines products. More flexible and fast-paced than a traditional carrier, we are looking for an individual with an insurance background who is energized by a highly collaborative environment and is seeking opportunities to build products, process, and structure from the ground up!
As a Senior Product Analyst supporting our national admitted Homeowners program, you will work closely with the rest of the product team, IT and compliance to drive new growth in the program via our modern technology platform. You will also be responsible for analyzing the health of existing programs to ensure ongoing profitability, competitive position and compliance with local regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Product Team, internal and external associates, and vendors to support introduction of new products, enhancements to existing products, and/or entry into new markets to reach company profit and growth targets
- Collaborate with business partners throughout the organization on the rate and rule revision process, including confirming scope and timelines and implementing final revision changes
- Contribute to the development of new products: The Product Analyst may participate in the analysis and implementation of new products; Post implementation of new products, the Product Analyst will be responsible for applying quantitative and analytical methods to analyze state performance and identify additional areas of research
- Apply mathematical and statistical techniques to analyze profitability and competitive position on a state and program basis, and work with relevant team members to make recommendations on what actions can be taken to improve product performance
- Review insurance company filings, in particular rate algorithms, underwriting guidelines, and forms, along with industry and regulatory changes to provide recommendations that will improve product launches, changes, and enhancements.
- Other duties as needed to support our growing organization
Primary Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in economics, business administration, mathematics/statistics, finance or other quantitative discipline, or equivalent work experience
- Related experience in insurance product management preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience in the insurance industry
- Skilled in linking multiple data sources to organize data into a logical format for analysis.
- Knowledge of SQL, SAS, R, Python, Table, and/or other programming/data query/reporting knowledge preferred, in addition, intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel is required
- Well organized with a strong attention to detail
- Desire to solve problems, think analytically and move quickly to build new programs
- High degree of flexibility and comfort responding to changing business needs
- Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
- Ability to work as a team player to deliver results effectively and efficiently to a variety of customers
