BAE Systems is looking for an experienced Software Engineer for the Mobility Air Forces Automated Flight Planning Service (MAFPS) program. The qualified candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that works in a rapid development environment. The qualified candidate should have experience with Java, Web Services, Cloud architectures, operations and application deployment, XML and WSDL knowledge.
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering/technical discipline
  • 8 to 10+ years of software design, code and test experience
  • Must hold an active Secret clearance
  • Experience with Agile Development, notably Scaled Agile Framework
  • Subject matter expertise in Cloud architectures, operations and application deployment
  • Experience monitoring, troubleshooting and fixing complex systems, preferably in a 24/7 operational environment
  • Excellent analytical skills coupled with a strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in Java
  • Experience with Web Services, XML, WSDL
  • Understanding and skills in software design and code, including Object Oriented Analysis & Design (OOAD) and SOA
  • Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic/collaborative environment


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience with Software Architectures (e.g., Web Services)
  • Hold an active security clearance, Secret or higher
  • AWS Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer and/or SysOps Administrator certifications
  • Security+ Certification
  • Domain knowledge of Terraform
  • Domain knowledge of Ansible scripting with AWS
  • Familiarity with AWS GovCloud setting up a CI/CD pipeline
  • Developing launch configurations for deployment into AWS GovCloud
  • Experience with Cloud One integration
  • Software Installation Development (InstallShield, InstallAnywhere)
  • Experience with Software Systems Performance Analysis
  • Experience with scripting and other languages (e.g., JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, XML, HTML, CSS, JQuery, and/or PERL)
  • Experience with database development tools and design (e.g., SQL Server)
  • Experience with automated test tools
  • Development tools and services (e.g., MS Visual Studio, Eclipse)
  • User Interface development tools
  • Configuration Management tools (e.g., Jira, Git, and/or Subversion)


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $146670 - $249330
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
