About the Job

You’ll be working with a close-knit group of mobile build engineers, all of them focused on enabling our mobile engineers to consistently deliver iOS and Android updates and features to over 75 Million Life360 families across the globe. As a Mobile Release Management Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring our mobile releases are uploaded to the app stores on time. You will closely engage with mobile engineers as well as our build engineers to reduce any friction that may impact our release cadence as well as facilitate urgent releases.

The US-based salary range for this position is $144,500 to $213,000. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary- therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.

What You’ll Do

  • Work with engineers across the company to coordinate releasing our mobile apps to Google Play and Apple App Store
  • Help to identify pain points in our release management process and build automation to minimize or resolve them
  • Track and monitor our releases and ensure successful rollout across Life360’s 75M+ users
  • Manage risk, identify release blockers, and ensure issues are driven to resolution
  • Drive consistent improvement on our overall mobile release strategy and processes
  • Capture and generate reports on key metrics to assess the health of our mobile releases

What We’re Looking ForMinimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience developing Mobile apps (iOS and/or Android)
  • 2+ years experience scripting using different scripting languages such as Bash, Ruby, or Python
  • 1+ years experience with CI/CD systems such as Buildkite, Jenkins, CircleCI, Github Actions, etc. 
  • 2+ years of experience releasing mobile applications to Google Play and/or Apple App Store
  • Good interpersonal skills with a highly collaborative working style. Good verbal and excellent written communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of the SDLC, preferably with experience across a wide range of models

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience driving mobile releases to millions of users globally
  • Experience using mobile release management tools like Runway
  • 5+ years of development experience with Mobile apps (iOS or Android)
  • 3+ years of experience with mobile CI/CD
  • Working experience with build tooling like gradle, xcode, maven, make or ant
  • Superior organizational skills: notes, formal documentation, task assignment
  • Strong debugging skills; Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs to improve application delivery and releases
