Senior Flight Test Engineer, Intelligence Systems

Anduril Intelligence Systems is actively seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Test & Evaluation Engineer with a specialization in flight testing. In this role, you will support our business line by contributing your technical expertise and fostering strategic collaboration across various teams. This includes working closely with program leadership, supporting companies, and government partners.
The Test Engineering team works across the entire spectrum of products ranging from Lattice Ghost UAS, Sentry Tower, cUAS and our other platforms. Our team conducts full system level development testing, new aircraft development, sub-component qualification testing and much more. In short, if it involves test, we support it. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- As a Test and Evaluation (T&E) engineer, under minimal supervision, you will determine and develop various approaches to achieve T&E goals and help guide and perform the completion of test activities.
- Test duties include system level T&E of hardware and software with emphasis placed on resource planning, conducting ground and flight testing, process improvement/development and participating in technical test reviews.
- Support execution of testing at private and government owned test ranges
- Work closely with Engineering to discuss test results, to include collected data and observations.
- Collect and perform initial test data analysis for the system under test.
- Work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor's degree or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution
- 3+ years test engineering experience
- Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
- Ability to travel as required for planning and testing (~25-50%).
- Experience producing customer facing test deliverables (test plans, test reports, data analysis, etc.)
- Experience as a test conductor, test director, test pilot/navigator or similar
- Must have a complete understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory; experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts; and, expansive knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices in related technical specialties.
- Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and solve problems across a variety of engineering areas
- Previous expertise and working knowledge of the National Airspace System and UAS operating rules and regulations thereof.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver results in a highly ambiguous, fast-paced environment with little to no oversight
- Prior manned or unmanned drone or small UAS experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance
- Experience working with the Department of Defense (DoD)
- Hobbyist R/C, electronics experience, and/or rapid-prototyping experience (soldering, harnessing, power supply, etc)
- Familiar with or willing to learn flight control software platforms like PX4 and ArduPilot
- Familiar with or willing to learn QGroundControl, Mission Planner, or similar Ground Control Station software applications
- Ability to obtain and maintain a FAA part 107 certificate and/or have completed FAA Part 61 ground school
US Salary Range
$120,000—$155,000 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
