As a Senior Engineer at Authorium, you will be a key technical contributor in building our innovative document process automation platform. You'll work on complex challenges at the intersection of document management, workflow automation, and data integration. Your expertise will help shape our technical architecture while delivering robust solutions that transform how government agencies work.
How you'll make an impact:
- Own and architect significant technical features from conception to production deployment
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to best practices and security standards
- Collaborate with product and design teams to implement elegant solutions for complex workflow challenges
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews and technical documentation
- Drive technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions that shape our platform
- Contribute to our continuous integration and deployment processes
What makes you qualified for this role:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with significant work on enterprise SaaS applications
- Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails and modern JavaScript frameworks
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and optimization techniques
- Proven track record of building scalable, maintainable software systems
- Strong knowledge of software development principles and design patterns
- Experience with cloud services (AWS) and containerization technologies
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with document processing and workflow automation systems
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven systems
- Experience with Redis, Sidekiq, or similar background processing systems
- Experience working with government or enterprise clients
- Contributions to open-source projects
Employees located within 30 miles of our hub cities—San Francisco, Sacramento, and Washington, D.C. —are required to work onsite from Tuesday to Thursday. Remote work is available on other days.
- Salary Range: $160,000-180,000
