Blue is a leading aerospace manufacturing company dedicated to pioneering technology, excellence, and powerful solutions. This role is essential in advancing our data capabilities for aerospace manufacturing, enabling us to drive innovation and efficiency across our organization.

 

We are looking for an expert Senior Data Engineer with experience in Data Platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, Palantir Foundry or like to lead our efforts in ingesting, curating, and creating an ontology/canonical model to drive operational outcomes in aerospace manufacturing. The ideal candidate will possess advanced expertise in API development, strong DevOps skills with an emphasis on Kubernetes, sophisticated testing methodologies, and a good understanding of Knowledge Graphs and Ontologies. Experience with UI work will be considered a significant advantage.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable APIs using frameworks like FastAPI.
  • Implement and lead CI/CD pipelines, improving and maintaining DevOps processes particularly with Kubernetes.
  • Develop and complete detailed unit tests and engage in development practices that prioritize code quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
  • Leverage Knowledge Graphs and Ontology to design and implement sophisticated data models and solutions.
  • Participate actively in architectural discussions and provide innovative ideas to improve system design and performance.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior developers, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Collaborate in code reviews to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Document development processes, technical specifications, and system designs in detail.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of professional experience using Python, Java or Scala in software development.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in API development using FastAPI, GraphQL or similar frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of Knowledge Graphs and Ontologies, and their application in real-world projects.
  • Strong experience with DevOps practices and containers, especially Kubernetes.
  • Proven track record in implementing unit testing and Test Driven Development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with UI development and integration is a bonus.
  • Excellent communication and partnership capabilities, with a proactive approach to your work.
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on achieving desired outcomes.
  • Leadership experience and the ability to mentor junior engineers.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in aerospace manufacturing or a related industry
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies such as React.js or Angular.
  • Background in working with large datasets and data processing technologies.
  • Prior experience in a senior or lead developer role.

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $164,415.00-$230,179.95
