The Opportunity

This role is responsible for providing strong qualitative and technical support in product development, financial analysis, management reporting, and actuarial research by applying a variety of actuarial and statistical concepts, practices and procedures to deliver timely analyses for key stakeholders.

  • Location: New York City (55 Water Street, NYC), Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, or Chicago highly preferred
  • Work Arrangement: This role is preferably a hybrid role, where you will be expected to be in the office 2-3 days per week. However, for the right candidate, fully remote is a possibility
  • The starting salary for this role is between $88,000.00 and $165,000.00

Primary Responsibilities
This position will provide pricing support for Financial Lines risks at QBE North America. Primary responsibilities of the role will include regular rate, retention, technical rater monitoring, rate filing support, data review and contributing to portfolio analyses of QBE North America’s Financial Lines segments. As business needs demand this role will also work directly with underwriters and senior pricing actuaries to support transactional account pricing.  Ideal candidates would have 2-5 years of experience of Financial Lines pricing, familiarity with R, Python, Power BI would be a plus.

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Preferred Education Specifics
• Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics or other quantitative field
Preferred Experience
• 2-5 years in an Actuarial or Analytics department
Preferred Licenses/Certifications
• 4+ casualty actuarial exams
Preferred Knowledge
• Working knowledge of statistical methods and specialized math including calculus and probability
•Knowledge of current and possible future policies, practices, trends, technology and information affecting his/her business and organization; knows how the industry works
•Working knowledge of computer systems and software such as R, Python, Power BI
•Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
•Working knowledge of basic to moderately complex actuarial techniques
