This role is an integral part of our finance team, contributing significantly to the accuracy and timeliness of our financial reporting.  The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, applying a thorough understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP & IFRS) within a complex, multinational organizational structure. This individual is expected to work independently and without external supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Month-End Close: Oversee and participate in all aspects of the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Account Reconciliation & Bank Statement Reconciliation:  Perform detailed reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the integrity of the general ledger through accurate and timely recording of transactions.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and analyze financial reports, identifying trends and variances, and providing insights to management.
  • Journal Entry Review & Variance Analysis: Review junior accountant's journal entries, identifying and correcting errors, and performing variance analysis to understand performance.
  • Tax Preparation & Audit Support: Assist with the preparation of tax returns and provide support during external audits.
  • Revenue Recognition & Invoicing: Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Cost Accounting:  Develop and maintain cost accounting systems and reports.
  • Fixed Asset Management:  Manage the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate capitalization and depreciation.
  • Training and Mentoring: Train and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Other duties as assigned

About YouThe essentials:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience in a corporate setting.
  • Proven proficiency in US GAAP & IFRS.
  • Demonstrated expertise in NetSuite (or equivalent ERP) 

Not a must, but a plus:

  • Knowledge of Netsuite Analytics Warehouse
  • Experience working within a large-scale enterprise environment, ideally with multi-entity or multinational experience.

Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
