About the team: 

We are looking for a dynamic, strategic, and highly organized Senior Account Manager to join our team. In this role, you will take ownership of a portfolio of Financial Advisor accounts, managing high-priority clients and fostering long-term relationships. You will play a key role in driving revenue growth, enhancing client satisfaction, and optimizing account performance. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.

About the Job:

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as a trusted partner and primary contact for Financial Advisors.
  • Strategically engage and retain clients by understanding their needs.
  • Counsel Advisors on best practices to optimize SmartAsset campaigns.
  • Lead high-priority client escalation calls, including negotiations.

Revenue Growth & Upselling

  • Maximize revenue by selling additional products and services.
  • Manage and drive revenue in a growing book of business.
  • Utilize Tableau and other sales tools to uncover new business opportunities.

Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Mentor junior AMs and lead team meetings and trainings.
  • Represent the AM business in strategic meetings and provide feedback to the leadership team.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Liaise with Account Executive and Advisor Support teams.
  • Work with sales operations, marketing, and product teams to share advisor insights.
  • Drive adoption of new tools and features across the team.

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain accurate Salesforce records for Advisor accounts.
  • Assist with Outreach Automation Tool (OAT) setup and maintenance.
  • Investigate billing discrepancies and intermediate finance conversations.
  • Oversee pre-activation processes, including compliance approvals and onboarding.
  • Action feedback from the Concierge team to improve engagement.

Skills/Experience you have:

  • 3+ years of experience in account management or business development, with a proven ability to manage a high volume of clients.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong phone presence to effectively engage with clients.
  • Skilled in building and maintaining lasting client relationships through multiple communication channels (email, phone, virtual meetings).
  • Proven consultative sales expertise, adept at identifying client needs and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment, with experience in team leadership or management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Skills/Experience preferred:

  • Interest in the financial advisory industry with a strong willingness to learn. While prior experience is not required, the ability to communicate effectively and confidently with financial advisors is essential.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer 
  • Must be able to communicate via phone calls and/or video conferences (mainly for concierge and sales roles)

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Nevada, Rhode Island, Washington, and New York City residents* Base Salary $70,000-$80,000 and $95,000-$110,000 OTE + RSUs + benefits.

Salary at SmartAsset is determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the contiguous United States.
