Right now, we have a vacancy for an R&D - ML Engineer (Mid) / Technical Leader. This is a fully remote opportunity. You will join a multidisciplinary team of Engineers, Data Scientists, and innovation management Experts that excel in driving innovation in software engineering, A.I., and data analytics, to foster advances in key sectors such as banking, security, health, finance, creativity, and lifelong learning.

Our department is working on numerous large-scale Research and Innovation Projects in various sectors such as Security (Physical and Digital), Health, and Creativity. Our core competence is around A.I., data analytics, real-time systems engineering, complex event processing, and large-scale cloud implementations.

Your main duties will be:

• Technical Project Management (project’s effort allocation, task plan, projects' progress overview, participation in calls & meetings).
• Projects' Technical specification definition & Architecture Design (technical requirements definition, software architecture design, data flows definition)
• Apply Machine Learning algorithms and techniques, build and maintain end-to-end solutions
• Statistical analysis and fine-tuning using test results
• Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to build and maintain data and model pipelines.
• Provide solutions to any technical-related issues during a project’s lifecycle

• BSc degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or a similar field. An MSc degree will be highly appreciated. 
• Proven working experience, 3 to 5 years, on application development project(s). 
• Good knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, and computational algorithms. 
• Proven experience and competence in software engineering and design. 
• Good understanding of data structures, data modeling, and software architectures. 
• Expertise in data analysis and visualization   
• Proven experience in Python 
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, pandas, scikit-learn). 
• Good knowledge of Git 
• Experience with REST-API design and implementation 
• Working experience in Research / H2020 Projects, will be highly appreciated 

Preferred Skills

• Experience in frameworks Django, FLASK or FastAPI
• Familiar with SQL databases
• Familiarisation with application containers (Docker) and general exposure to continuous integration processes and practices
• Familiarization with event-driven processes

General Skills:

• Excellent understanding of the English language (both verbal & written)
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
• Team player, self-motivated, constantly seeking new knowledge

Ability to travel (up to 10% of total working time, in European destinations) / Fulfilled military obligations for male candidates
