Job Responsibilities:
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Purchasing Manager to join our team. The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, supplies, and services. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a deep understanding of procurement strategies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in procurement, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure on-time delivery of materials, supplies, and services.


  • Source and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate favorable terms, and establish strong supplier relationships to ensure consistent and reliable supply.


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Engineering, Operations, and Finance, to align procurement activities with organizational goals and requirements.


  • Monitor and analyze market trends, supplier performance, and industry best practices to identify potential risks and opportunities.


  • Supervise the procurement team, providing guidance, coaching, and training to ensure high performance and adherence to procurement policies and procedures.


  • Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.


  • Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers, addressing any issues and ensuring favorable terms and conditions.


  • Develop and maintain a supplier evaluation system to assess supplier performance, and implement improvement plans where necessary.


  • Optimize inventory levels through effective inventory management strategies, minimizing shortages and reducing excess stock.


  • Prepare and present reports on procurement activities and cost savings to senior management.



Education / Experience /Special Knowledge / Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.


  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or automotive industry.


  • Deep knowledge of procurement processes, strategies, and best practices.


  • Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.


  • Proficient in using procurement software and tools.


  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.


  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.


  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.


  • Understanding of contract management and legal aspects of procurement.


  • Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) are a plus.
