About Prepared

Emergency centers, vital to our society, are often constrained by technology that dates back to the landline era. This presents a stark contrast to our current smartphone-centric, socially connected world. At Prepared, we bridge this gap with cutting-edge technology that harnesses the power of Artificial Intelligence to revolutionize how emergency calls are handled.  Our innovative technology is providing a suite of tools that significantly boost the capabilities of 911 dispatch centers and first responders. With our solutions implemented in over 800 cities across 48 states, we're positively impacting the lives of approximately 75 million people.

Backed by $27 million in Series B funding led by Andreessen Horowitz, we're scaling rapidly to become a core component of emergency calls nationwide, driving the future of emergency response toward a safer, more agile system.

Joining the Prepared team means more than just a new role. It's a chance to be at the forefront of impactful tech that significantly improves public safety and touches lives across the globe. At Prepared, you're not just part of a team; you're a key player in a larger mission to foster a safer, more interconnected world.

Position Overview

Prepared is seeking a Project Manager to lead the execution of cross-functional initiatives across both customer-facing and internal projects. This is a high-impact role where you’ll drive end-to-end project execution, collaborating with customers and internal teams to deliver solutions that support our mission: bringing lifesaving technology to public safety professionals and the communities they serve.

You’ll thrive in this role if you're energized by fast-paced environments, bring structure to ambiguity, and excel at cross-functional coordination and communication.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead Project Execution: Own the full lifecycle of projects—from kickoff to completion—ensuring alignment with business goals, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations.

  • Customer Implementation: Serve as the central point of coordination for onboarding and implementation projects with Prepared customers.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams including Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Support to align dependencies, resolve blockers, and drive execution.

  • Agile/Hybrid Methods: Apply agile or hybrid methodologies to fit project needs, ensuring flexibility and structure.

  • Risk Management: Proactively identify risks, build mitigation plans, and manage escalations to maintain momentum.

  • Clear Communication: Provide consistent, concise updates to internal and external stakeholders, including leadership and customers.

  • Process Optimization: Contribute to improving tools, workflows, and documentation to scale project delivery.

  • Strategic Support: Support broader initiatives like RFP responses, internal rollouts, and special projects as needed.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • 2–5 years of experience managing cross-functional projects or implementations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment (startup or high-growth company experience preferred).

  • A proactive, structured thinker who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys creating order from chaos.

  • Strong communicator with the ability to distill complex ideas into actionable updates and keep all stakeholders aligned.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage both internal and external relationships with confidence and professionalism.

  • Comfortable juggling multiple priorities and working with tools like Notion, Asana, ClickUp, or Jira.

  • You are naturally curious and continuously seek ways to improve processes, efficiency, and outcomes.

Bonus Points

  • Public Safety Experience: Background in or passion for working with public safety, government, or mission-driven sectors.

  • Technical Fluency: Familiarity with software development processes, APIs, or product management practices.

  • Certifications: PMP, Scrum Master, or other Agile certifications.

  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in SaaS, govtech, healthcare, or telecommunications.

Pay Transparency

The base pay for this role is $130,000 - $144,000 per year + company equity. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Prepared’s unlimited vacation program.
