Job Description

The Project Manager II plays a key role working within a highly collaborative and Agile development team building the Transportation Warehouse Management System (TWMS). The PM will take on the role of Scrum Master for the team. They will communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders throughout the Program Increment (PI), maintain and execute the PI plan, and help raise awareness and mitigate risks. The PM/Scrum Master will facilitate the day-to-day activities of Product Owners, Quality Engineers, Developers, other Scrum Masters and other IS roles for the duration of the Program Increment. 

The TWMS development team is doing green-field development work on a warehouse management system for our global network of transportation warehouses. As a PM/Scrum Master, you will make a difference for end users in hundreds of warehouses around the world. The TWMS web application runs on Android-based mobile scanning devices and PCs. The system is widely used but is still in its infancy awaiting functionalities for all aspects of operations in multiple countries. The TWMS team works regularly with end users across the globe to determine the greatest need and each newly released feature is well-received by a hungry audience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports the team in adoption of SAFe/Agile core values, principles, and practices
  • Leads the team in self-organization to deliver quality software with predictability, efficiency, and velocity
  • Facilitates team SAFe ceremonies: daily stand-up, iteration planning, iteration review and retrospection
  • Provides metrics for the team (e.g. capacity, planned/actual velocity, story point burn down)
  • Removes impediments and provides visibility and/or escalation to leadership
  • Fosters a positive and productive environment within the Agile team
  • Monitors sprint/iteration work closely, proactively manages dependencies in support of delivering on time
  • Keeps team organized and focused
  • Promotes a mindset and focus on relentless & continuous improvement
  • Understands the context and status of each feature and story in the PI plan
  • Supports the RTE in administering PI planning
  • Works closely with Team Management to further support individual team members

This position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency and demonstrated experience as a Scrum Master with Scrum/Agile & Kanban methodologies
  • Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people
  • Ability to successfully navigate and execute within ambiguous and stressful situations
  • Strong communication and execution capabilities
  • Continuous learner: receptive to feedback, with a desire to improve
  • Skilled problem solver, strong collaborator, and able to provide organization and clarity around complex topics
  • Assertive personality; interpersonal, action and outcome driven mentality
  • Well-organized with a keen attention to detail

  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • 3 years of experience in related field (i.e., project management, software development, IS or Agile leadership, etc.) 
  • 3 years Scrum Master experience 
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) a plus

Additional Information

Expected base salary: $80,000 to $125,000
