About Ambrook

Ambrook's mission is to make sustainability profitable for family-run businesses.

In the face of historic heat waves, drought, flooding, supply chain disruptions, water shortages, and pollution, climate impacts are intensifying across industrial America: from farmers facing crop losses, to truckers navigating fuel volatility, to contractors managing material shortages. Evidence shows sustainable practice upgrades deliver financial returns – from water-efficient irrigation to fuel-efficient fleets – but these changes require significant upfront capital and a clear proof of return-on-investment to owner-operators facing tight cashflows and razor-thin margins already. With data scattered across paper records and outdated systems, operators struggle to forecast whether a practice change will improve their bottom line – let alone prove business health to lenders and other funders.

Ambrook is solving this chicken-and-egg problem by re-architecting the financial data layer of America's independent businesses. We're replacing unruly paperwork and expensive, archaic tools with an affordable accounting, banking and payments platform that helps operators understand their numbers and access capital for sustainable transitions.

Ambrook customers are our economy’s historic backbone and a manifestation of the American Dream. Done right, both financial and environmental sustainability enables these entities to stay independent and resilient in the face of climate-driven volatility.

We’re starting by building for farmers and ranchers across America.

We’re a Series A startup backed by top investors (Thrive Capital, Dylan Field, Homebrew, Designer Fund, BoxGroup, and more) and are looking for early team members who are looking to untangle the knotted intersection between American industry and climate.

The opportunity

We grew from launch to 7-figure ARR in 2024 thanks to the might of generalists. Now, we’re looking for a sharp specialist to be our founding product marketing lead – and build the machine that can scale us to 8-figure ARR and beyond.

Ambrook has built a well-rounded, world-class team. You would be the architect of our brand’s story and positioning in the market, owning the spectrum from strategic positioning and GTM to tactical website copy and case studies. You’re a good fit if you get obsessed with market analysis, customer segmentation and messaging – and ultimately driving more of the right kind of revenue to the business.

The best person for this role has a knack for connecting market opportunities with compelling storytelling about the company, product and individual customers.

We're looking for someone we can count on to...

  • Own: Product positioning, messaging, and related go-to-market strategy that resonates with our target audience of farmers and ranchers, and eventually many kinds of family-run businesses along the American industrial supply chain.
  • Teach: Product marketing best practices to cross-functional peers, empowering engineers, designers, and sales team members to effectively communicate our value proposition.
  • Learn: Ins and outs of building an agrifinance and climate tech company, including the nitty gritty of agricultural bookkeeping, the larger farm finance ecosystem, and natural resource management / ESG tie-ins.

Within 1 month you'll...

  • Familiarize yourself with Ambrook's product and our research notes and recording repository from user onboarding calls and customer discovery interviews.
  • Embed yourself deeply in understanding the state of farm accounting and finance, building (1) a strong intuition about customer needs and audience segmentation and (2) competitive intelligence for how Ambrook is and could be positioned in the market.
  • Gain deep familiarity with the sales cycle and customer journey across each of our customer segments, identifying collateral and content gaps. Audit and improve our workflows for producing product collateral, case studies, and other customer-facing content.
  • Take over our product messaging framework, ensuring it effectively communicates our value to different customer segments.
  • Take over and improve our existing product-market fit dashboards and report out on key adoption metrics.
  • Establish deep relationships with your team and cross-functional peers.

Within 3 months you'll...

  • Manage end-to-end product launch planning, execution, and measurement, including when we roll out features to beta testers to get feedback.
  • Develop compelling customer stories and case studies that demonstrate Ambrook's impact on financial and environmental sustainability, clearly articulating the ROI of Ambrook’s product to each customer segment relative to their status quo.
  • Partner with engineering to build clearer feature adoption tracking and user feedback frameworks to focus our development on highest-impact capabilities.
  • Drive a significant increase in product signup and activation rates, implementing best practices from other high-growth startups.
  • Write about your experience and how you improved Ambrook's positioning, processes, and team culture in a post on Ambrook's company blog.

About you

  • Proven experience owning and hitting aggressive product marketing and adoption targets.
  • Experience developing compelling product messaging that resonates with customers in similar verticals. Systems thinker who can discern the signal from the noise and understand anything from macro market trends to how changes to one part of the user journey may affect another.
  • Organized thinker and communicator; detail-oriented. Experience building product marketing functions in ambiguous, high-growth situations, especially in the transition from pre- to post-hypergrowth.
  • Competency with customer research methodologies and product analytics tools.
  • Bonus: Experience working in American industry – ag, trucking, construction, etc.
  • Bonus: Experience in fintech.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • Health insurance401(k) with matching contribution
  • Flexible vacation time
  • Flexible work hours
  • Work-from-home/remote office stipend, or desk at Ambrook’s NYC office or Denver office
  • Wellness stipend
  • Professional development stipend

Our values

  • Real Talk – We create space for ourselves and others to be straightforward, vulnerable, and accountable.
  • Reach Understanding – We are driven by curiosity and empathy to learn about our customers, team, and world.
  • Be Proactively Resourceful – We are internally motivated and externally empowered to identify opportunities and solve problems.
  • Derisk Thoughtfully – We lean into the biggest risks we face as a company and put in the work to address them systematically.
  • Find the Positive-Sum – We believe in creating incentive structures that align the needs of our company, our customers, and our planet.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
